2. Related Machinery: In this respect, this machine has counterpart of Edge Milling Machine, in the field of sheet metal steel plate processing;
3. 2 Types of Machines on Pipe Chamfering: Depending on size, especially diameter and length of pipes, there are 2 major types of machines on pipe edge milling, which we will introduce here as below.
Wuxi JACK machine on small to medium pipe beveling: (Fig.2)
1) Task: This machine is for purpose of small to medium pipe edge milling, making prepare for the next step of pipe elbow flange assembly and welding operation;
2) Specification: The pipes to be edge milled in this machine usually has relative short length: Length of pipe is 2 ~ 3 times that of pipe diameter;
3) Operation Specialty: In principle, this is an equipment for performing circumferential beveling on rim of pipes. It has similar pipe edge milling process as plate beveling machine, but in obviously higher milling speed;
This machine has main units of:
1) Working Unit: Circular milling cutter and its power head, for implementing on circumferential edge milling operation;
2) Stationary machine bed, for firmly holding on pipe edge milling unit, workpiece pipe and its trolley;
3) Workpiece Pipe Trolley:
a) Role: This unit serves as supporting and fixture for workpiece pipe, in the process of pipe circular beveling;
b) Fixture: As can be checked from attached photo, there are a pair of moving brackets, totally 4 pieces, left and right 2 pieces, for supporting and clamping workpiece pipe, during its circumferential chamfering;
c) Way of Adjustment based on Pipe Diameter and Length: There are several transverse sliding slots in the surface of the trolley, which can be used for modulating position of the abovementioned brackets along both transverse (leftward and rightward sliding) and longitudinal (Different shifts of slots) directions, to accommodate on different sizes (Including diameter and length) of workpiece pipe;
d) Assistant Fixture: Besides brackets, chains should be used to fasten the workpiece pipe, in the process of pipe annular chamfering;
4) Assistant Working Lamp: A set of work lamp is installed just above the pipe edge milling area, for the convenience of observing annular edge milling process;
5) Electric control board of this Pipe Beveling Machine is fit at lateral side of the machine mechanical base;
1) Arrangement: This machine works in the manner of workpiece pipe being fixed firmly, and the circular milling cutter revolve in high speed around pipe rim;
2) Beveling Working Speed: Linear revolving speed for pipe edge milling is adjustable controlled with A.C. inverter, which differs on varying thickness and diameter of workpiece pipe;
3) To Start on Pipe Circular Edge Milling Operation:
a) Load the workpiece pipe onto its trolley;
b) Adjust position of pipe holding brackets, until all the 4 pieces of the brackets lean against the workpiece pipe closely;
c) Then fasten the workpiece pipe tightly with chains;
d) Start on the machine, the circular milling cutter carries out pipe edge milling operation on the workpiece;

Wuxi JACK machine on large pipe chamfering: (Fig.3)
1) Background: This large size machine on large pipe edge milling, was developed as the first core machinery, in the production line of Large Diameter Longitudinal Seam SAW Pipes, which are used in Chinese national project of Deployment Oil and Gas Pipeline from West to East. To be specific, this large project was launched the year of around 2000;
2) Process Step: The machine following this heavy duty pipe edge milling machines are Pipe Tack Welding Machine and Pipe Internal Longitudinal Welding Machine;
3) Function: This machine fulfils high speed and high precision circumferential beveling task, on large size and heavy weight pipes;
1) Characteristic: In terms of both machine structure and working principle, this heavy duty machine is like a large scale horizontal lathe for large pipes;
Securing pipe firmly for its annular chamfering process is by means of a complicated large fixture. Please check attached picture:
a) Structure: This fixture has square external contour and circular internal chuck;
b) Drive: This fixture is hydraulic drive, to present sufficient driving force on reliably clamping large pipes;
c) Multiple Pipe Fixtures: This fixture has several sizes based on workpiece size --- In other words, one set of this large machine should be equipped with several sets of fixtures in different sizes, depending on product distribution at customer site;
3) Milling Cutter: At one side of the fixture is high speed precision circular milling cutter together with its power head, which can move forward and backward along its guiding rails, for carrying out pipe annular edge milling work;
4) Workpiece pipe is put on a horizontal sliding carriage at the opposing side of the annular beveling unit. The feeding in and retreating of the large pipe is in constant high speed;
5) Working Speed: The linear velocity of pipe edge milling is adjustable with A.C. inverter. This velocity should be determined based on diameter and thickness of workpiece pipe;
To start the circumferential edge milling job of this large machine,
1) Make sure pipe fixture is adaptable for size of the pipes, to be circumferential beveled in the machine. If not, replace a proper size fixture;
2) Load workpiece pipe onto its sliding carriage, and feed it toward the fixture;
3) Clamp workpiece pipe by means of its hydraulic drive fixture;
4) Implement on pipe circumferential chamfering operation, with the high speed precise circular milling unit;
5) At the completion of circumferential beveling operation, retreat the annular chamfering unit to its original place;
6) Release workpiece pipe from its fixture, then retract the pipe to its loading and unloading point, by means of motor drive sliding carriage;
