In the recently past year of 2025, Wuxi JACK supplied over 10 sets of “standard” (Z15 model) and “large” (Z20, Z30 models) I H Beam Assembly and Tack Welding Machine, of which some are designed with special requirement. Below are 2 typical cases:
 

1. “Standard” Z15 Model I H Beam Assembly Machine with Heavy duty Capacity:

In July and August 2025, as part of the 2 and half heavy duty automatic line of H Beam Welding Production Machine, Wuxi JACK delivered 2 sets of Z15 model, with larger H Beam flange width, and heavy flange and web thickness:

1. Downward Press Beam of Wuxi JACK I H Beam Assembly Machine:

4) While in other producers’ machines, the downward press beam is guided with 4 pieces of rolling rollers, the corresponding downward movement is by means of gliding force, the corresponding performance has shorter life than Wuxi JACK products;

2. 2 Steps Assembly Units of I H Beam Assembly Machine:

This is very similar to that of 3 in 1 H Beam Assembly Welding Straightening Machine, which includes:
1) 1st step rough assembly: There are 2 pairs of hydraulic drive manipulators (Pulling rod box), which are installed at input conveyor roller tables. When flange and web are sent into machine by way of infeed roller tables, these 2 pairs of hydraulic manipulators act in phase and in sequence, clamping moving flange and web into T or H shape;
2) 2nd step precise assembly unit, this unit is installed at machine central working area, the mechanical base bed. It includes pairs of symmetrically arranged eccentric alignment rollers, which will move forward and inward toward each other, under guidance of gloss bushing driven under oil cylinders, thus in turn clamping flange and web correctly firmly and reliably.

 

3. CO2 Gas Shielded Stitch Welding Unit of I H Beam Assembly and Tack Welding Machine:

This function unit work together with assembly unit, carrying out CO2 stitch welding onto clamped flange and web, strengthening it formed into T Beam or H Beam. This unit includes:
1) 2 sets of CO2 GMAW welding power supply and its control console: Usually 350A -500A specification;
2) 2 sets of cored welding wire feeding unit;
3) 2 pieces of symmetrically installed welding torch, together with its position precise managing group.

At central function zone of the machine, right following the assembly alignment rollers,
1) Replace the original 2 sets of 350A- 500A CO2 welding power supply into 1000A- 1250A SAW type;
2) Replace the original 2 pieces of CO2 stitch welding torches to SAW continuous welding torches;
3) Add on the group of straightening rollers right following SAW continuous welding torch units;

Work Procedure of Wuxi JACK I H Beam Assembly Machine

A. Workpiece Assembly Step in I H Beam Assembly and Tack Welding Machine:

Same as 3 in 1 H Beam Fabrication Machine, here the assembly operation is also implemented in the two steps of:

1. First Stage Rough Assembly: (The above 1st Photo) in I H Beam Assembly Machine:

1) First, rough positioning and clamping on flange and web by means of hydraulic drive manipulators (Also called pulling rod box);
2) The 2 pairs of manipulators are located in interval along machine infeed roller tables, face to face with each other in symmetry;
3) Such rough fitting up is fulfilled simultaneously, together with flange and web sending into the main machine;

2. Second Stage Precise Assembly (The above 2nd Photo) in I H Beam Assembly and Tack Welding Machine:

1) As the clamped flange and web are sent to main machine, precise positioning and clamping is carried out, by means of hydraulic oil cylinder drive alignment rollers;
2) These alignment rollers are installed in symmetry, and at different height levels, for clamping on flange and web respectively;
3) To acquired accurate assembly effect, these alignment rollers are eccentric type. Which means, position of these eccentric alignment rollers can be adjusted in inching mode, so as to manage on flange and web position correctly, acquiring full proof accurate assembly effect;

1) During T Beam H Beam assembly and CO2 intermittent welding operation, the workpiece is pressed and held firmly by means of a piece of downward going pressing beam, which is guided with a rod;
2) This rod is driven with an overhead oil cylinder, which are installed into machine top gantry. It is the apex point of the machine;

B. CO2 GMAW Welding in I H Beam Assembly and Tack Welding Machine:

1. Welding mode on H Beam assembly is small to medium current CO2 gas shielded welding, majority in the form of intermittent tack welding;
2. The nominal max. welding current is 500A, and common seen working current is around 350A;

3. Welding Environment of I H Beam Assembly Machine:

1) Unlike I H Beam Submerged Arc Welding Machine, which is adopted with no fume and SAW (Submerged arc welding), CO2 GMAW generates intense heat, fumes, noises, strong arc light;
2) Accordingly, as shown in above photos, operators need to put on proper PPE (Personal protection equipment) for maintaining personnel safety, especially helmet/ glove/ goggles;
3) The CO2 welding torches should be equipped with water cooling function, to maintain its service life.

A. 3 Working Modes in I H Beam Assembly and Tack Welding Machine:

In sequence of operation at each shift:

1. MANUAL Mode in T I H Beam Assembly Machine:

This working mode is for the purpose of:
1) Confirm on machine normal status: Start on the machine at beginning of each shift every day, for subsequent official continuous work;
