1. T Beam is important raw material in Steel Structure and Shipbuilding Industry. Unlike H Beam, which has 2 types of hot rolled type and welding type, T Beam only has one type of welding produced, which should be manufactured from machine line group, or individual equipment of T Beam Assembly Machine:

Customers having requirement on welding T Beam production come from two industries: Steel Structure and Shipbuilding, which has certain different specific requirement on specifications of produced T Beam, and hence production process technology:
a) In Shipbuilding field, the welding seam should have higher anti-impact IK value than normal, which is accomplished with CO2 gas shielded welding:
b) CO2 gas shielded GMAW welding on T Beam with strong light and heavy fume: (Fig.2)

c) Besides, to raise product efficiency, multi-head T Beam Welding Machine is often equipped with several (4 to 5) pieces of welding torches, to complete welding on several pieces of T Beams simultaneously:
d) 4 pieces of T Beams are being welded in Wuxi JACK multi-head T Beam Welding Machine: (Fig.3)

a) Another crucial important difference between Shipbuilding and Steel Structure use T Beam for its production technology is, after steel plate being cut from CNC Strip Plate Cutting Machine, and before being assembled and tack welded in T Beam Assembly Machine, the end plate (Horizontal plate) and stiffener (Vertical plate) should have its edge rounded and trimmed, in RH800 to RH1000 Edge Rounding Machine;
b) This is because that, T Beam used in Shipbuilding always work in humid environment with high moisture, which should be strengthened for its painting adhesive capability. This is accomplished with edge rounding operation;
Size of T Beam used in Shipbuilding is somewhat smaller than those for Steel Structure:
a) Height of stiffener (Vertical plate) is usually in the range of 300mm to 1000mm;
b) Thickness of stiffener (Vertical plate) is from 8mm to 20mm;
c) Width of end plate (Horizontal plate) is in the range of 100mm to 500mm;
d) Thickness of end plate (Horizontal plate) is from 10mm to 40mm;
In Steel Structure plant, just like H Beam Production Line, the finished welding operation on T Beam is SAW (Submerged arc welding. It can be:
a) Either customer cut a piece of finished H Beam in half, into 2 pieces of T Beam;
b) Or single time of welding operation from one piece of flange and web, into T Beam (For producing welding H Beam, welding operation need to be implemented 2 times);
2) There is no need of edge rounding in process route of steel structure use T Beam production;
Steel structure application T Beam has larger dimension than those for Shipbuilding:
a) T Beam stiffener (Vertical plate) height is usually in the range of 200mm to 1500mm,
b) T Beam stiffener (Vertical plate) thickness is from 6mm to 32mm;
c) T Beam end plate (Horizontal plate) width is in the range of 200mm to 800mm;
d) T Beam end plate (Horizontal plate) thickness 8mm to 40mm;
There is seldom sole purpose machine line group on T Beam production in Steel Structure plant. Usually it is in the form of H Beam Production Line and H Beam Fabrication Machine, which can produce both T Beam and H Beam, sometimes even BOX Beam. For example, LHT model H Beam SAW Welding Machine can weld on BOX Beam H Beam T Beam with single set of equipment.

In practice, there are two general ways of T Beam manufacture adopted by customers, either in the way of machine group of T Beam Production Line, or individual equipment of 3 in 1 T Beam Fabrication Machine:
1. This is traditional way of welding T Beam production, and still take fairly large share nowadays. It is in majority used in large scale Shipbuilding facility, for producing T Beam in batch with large volume;
1) CNC Strip Plate Cutting Machine;
2) Edge Rounding Machine;
3) Multi-head T Beam Assembly Machine;
4) Multi-head T Beam Welding Machine;
3. Characteristic of such machine line on T Beam production lies at its output: There are usually 5- 6 pieces of T Beam to be produced at the same time.
1. This equipment is similar to 3 in 1 H Beam Fabrication Machine (H Beam Assembly Welding Straightening), which is widely applied in Steel Structure Industry;
2. Integrating three functions of T Beam assembly, welding and straightening, three in one T Beam Fabrication Machine has advantages of compact size, high efficiency and budget saving;
3. This machine is usually installed in working sites with medium level volume of T Beam. It manufactures one piece of T Beam at any moment.
No matter by means of machine group of T Beam Production Line, or individual equipment of 3 in 1 T Beam Fabrication Machine, the process technology of welding T Beam production can be divided into below 4 general steps of:
1) The above 1st Photo: Carbon steel plate is cut into long and strip plates in CNC Strip Plate Cutting Machine, serving as end plate (Horizontal plate) and stiffener plate (Vertical plate) of T Beam production, by means of flame strip cutting;
2) This step can also be implemented with Shearing Machine. CNC Flame Cutting Machine has higher output and larger thickness capacity;
1) The above 2nd Photo: This step is for trimming, deburring, and edge rounding on the horizontal plates of T Beam, by means of RH800 or RH1000 model Edge Rounding Machine, into R2.0mm to R2.5mm radius smooth round edge along T Beam end plate;
2) This step is for raising painting adhesion capability of end plate (Horizontal plate) and stiffener plate (Vertical plate) of T Beam. It is a must operation for T Beam produced in Shipbuilding plant;
3) The edge rounded workpieces will be sent to next station of T Beam Assembly Machine.
1) The above 3rd Photo: In this step, the end plate (Horizontal plate) and stiffener (Vertical plate) are assembled and tack welded into the structure of T Beam;
2) The welding mode implemented in the machine is intermittent CO2 GMAW.
1) The above 4th Photo: In operation of T Beam Production Line in Shipbuilding Industry, the finished welding is in the mode of continuous CO2 Gas Shielded Welding. The corresponding T Beam welding station is equipped with 4 to 6 pieces of welding carriages and torches simultaneously, delivering 5 to 6 pieces of finished T Beam at the same time;
2) For producing steel structure use T Beam, the finished welding is in the mode of large current continuous SAW (Submerged arc welding), same as H Beam Welding Machine.

b) The machine has 1 or 2 pieces of CNC control cutting torch at front side of machine gantry frame, for fulfilling profile cutting; And 6 to 8 pieces of strip cutting torch at rear side of gantry frame, for cutting out several pieces of narrow plates with varied width;
c) The CNC control cutting torches have capacitance type height controller, to counteract negative influence from uneven steel plate; The strip cutting torches have manual adjust height controller.

a) Task: This machine trims on edges of steel plate and H Beam flange with high productivity, into smooth and round angle of R2.0mm to R2.5mm. In this way, painting adhesion capability of workpieces can be raised effectively;
