Why We Talk out T Beam Production Line and its Technical Specialty?

1.      The Importance of T Beam and T Beam Production Machine:

1)      T Beam is a kind of common used steel structure members. Its mechanical properties come between Angle Steel and H Beam. T Beam is widely used in Shipbuilding Industry and Steel Structure Industry;

2)      In recent years, with the rapid development of Shipbuilding and Steel Structure industry, the demand on T Beam and T Beam Production Line keep expanding, and people pay more and more attention on manufacture of welding T Beam;

2.      The Uniqueness of T Beam and T Beam Production Line:

1)      With appearance looks like “Half of H Beam”, we can not simply say that “T Beam is half of H Beam”, and correspondingly “T Beam Production Line is half of H Beam Production Line”: There do exist certain uniqueness of T Beam production process technology, especially on the aspect for Shipbuilding use. We will explore on this topic from next segment of this article;

2)      In this short article, we will have a brief discussion on T Beam Production Line, its included T Beam Production Machine, and individually operating T Beam Fabrication Machine.


The Requirement on Property of T Beam and its T Beam Production Line

For T Beam to be used in Shipbuilding and Steel Structure Construction, due to the difference between the environment and usage of projects in two industries, so are also the differences on property of T Beam and its T Beam Production Machine:

1.      T Beam and T Beam Production Line for Shipbuilding Facility:

1)      Default of T Beam: This is the most important aspect of T Beam application, and also its identity label: When people talk about “T Beam”, majority conditions they refer to the T Beam for Shipbuilding use;

2)      Painting Adhesion: We know all ships run on river/ lake/ sea, which is excessive damp and moisture-ridden. So, painting of structure members and sub-assemblies should be durable and wear resistant. The T Beam should also have this capability, this is the first demand on T Beam Production Line and T Beam Production Machine;

3)      Application Point and Mechanical Strength: In process of ship manufacture, T Beam usually serve as face stiffener in the structure of ship, which looks something like below picture: (Although in the photo the stiffeners are L steel, while in Shipbuilding the stiffeners are T Beam);

So, T Beam should be very strong and have high mechanical strength. This is the second demand on T Beam Production Line and T Beam Production Machine;

4)      Size: T Beam for Shipbuilding have small to medium size. Basically, the height of T Beam (In the way of its end plate height) do not exceed 1000mm. This make Shipbuilding T Beam Welding Machine has different structure as Steel Structure use.



2.      T Beam and T Beam Production Line for Steel Structure Facility:

1)      The T Beam consumed in Steel Structure is not so eye catching than applied in Shipbuilding. It can be viewed as semi-product of welding H Beam: When one piece of flange and web are assembled and welded, a piece of welding T Beam come into being; When the 2nd piece of flange added, the T Beam is made into H Beam;

2)      So, when Steel Structure customers purchase T Beam Production Line and or T Beam Fabrication Machine, many times they choose H Beam Production Line and or H Beam Fabrication Machine, so both T Beam and H Beam are available for production.




Process Technology and Technical Specialty of T Beam Production Line:

Let us compare the three major application scenarios, so that we can get a more clearer view on characteristics of T Beam Production Machine: H Beam Production Line, T Beam Production Line for Shipbuilding, and T Beam Production Line for Steel Structure, in the sequence of process route:

1.      The first Step: 1st Operation Plate Cut in Two types of T Beam Production Line and H Beam Production Line:

1)      This is the common step in all the three applications. Strip plates with width in the range of 150mm~800mm/ 1000mm/ 1500mm, length up to 12000mm/ 15000mm are cut out from CNC Flame Plate Cutting Machine;

2)      These strip plates will be served as end plate (Flange) and stiffener (Web) of T Beam (H Beam);

2.      The 2nd Step: End Plate Trimming in Shipbuilding T Beam Production Line:

1)      This step is only necessary in Shipbuilding T Beam Production Machine. This corresponds with the first requirement on Shipbuilding application T Beam: Its high standard painting adhesive performance;

2)      The end plate of T Beam (Correspond with H Beam flange) should have its both sides edges deburred, trimmed, and rounded into radius of 2.0mm ~ 2.5mm. This is accomplished by means of RH1000 Edge Rounding Machine;

3.      The 3rd Step: T Beam/ H Beam Assembling and Tack Welding in T Beam Production Line and H Beam Production Line:

1)      This is also the requisite step in all the three application scenarios: In T Beam Assembly Machine (And H Beam Assembly Machine), end plate (Flange) and stiffener (Web) assembling and tack welding are performed automatically and simultaneously;

2)      Tack welding is in the mode of 500A specification intermittent CO2 gas shielded welding;

4.      The 4th Step: Finished Forming Welding in Two Types of T Beam Production Line and H Beam Production Line:

This step is a bit different in the three application scenarios:

1)      For Steel Structure T Beam Welding Machine and H Beam Welding Machine, forming welding is in the way of 1000A specification Single Arc specification submerged arc welding;

2)      For Shipbuilding T Beam Welding Machine, forming welding is in the way of 500A specification continuous CO2 GMAW;

5.      The 5th Step: Straightening in Steel Structure T Beam Production Line and H Beam Production Line:

This step is not necessary in Shipbuilding T Beam Production Line, but a must for Steel Structure use.
