1) Advanced Design: There are certain technical difficulties in design cutting torch, especially for 5 / 6 / 7 axis large models machines. The vertical movement unit of the cutting torch is guided by precision ball linear guides, ensuring high accuracy. The screw and nut transmission pair adjusts the height of the cutting torch to meet the cutting needs of different steel pipe diameters;
2) Process Technology: Manufacture craftsman of cutting torch assemblies embodies technical and comprehensive strength of Wuxi JACK as developer and producer;
3) Presenting 5 Motions Axis: During operation on CNC Pipe Intersection Cutting Machine, cutting torch needs to complete motions with 5 degrees of freedom to fulfil challenge job of cut and bevel;
2. Mechanical frame of machine: Relatively simple structure for CNC Pipe Intersection Cutting Machine, but matters most on making sure durable, high precision and stable operation on CNC control pipe cutting, especially 5, 6, 7 axis models;
3. Electric Control System: The most technically sophisticated part of machine, which involves state-of-art hardware and software technique, developed and validated by Wuxi JACK engineering team.
As can be checked from this print, one set of CNC Pipe Cut Machine is mainly composed of:
1) Mechanical main frame:
a) Base bed;
b) Pipe fixture: 3 claw chuck and movable X brackets for securing small pipes, and friction rollers for large models;
c) Stationary gantry and horizontal beam;
2) Cutting torch mechanism: Horizontal and vertical high precision linear guiderail, stainless circular ruler for torch swing angular control, proximity switch, servo motors;
3) Thermal cutting system: Oxygen fuel manifold and hose for flame cutting; 200A or 300A plasma power supply depending on customer requirement;
4) Electric control system: Integrated industrialized computer with advanced hardware, and dedicated software on CNC Pipe Cut Machine:
1) Applicable Pipe Specifications:
a) Cut off and cut out holes, in straight and slant bevel on pipes with diameter range of Φ48mm- Φ660mm;
b) Pipe length from 1000mm to 12,000mm;
c) Pipe wall thickness from 5mm to 50mm;
d) Material: Carbon steel, stainless steel...;
2) 5 Axis CNC control for Beveling: In this medium size flame plasma CNC Pipe Intersection Cutting Machine, slant edge chamfer in the range of ±45° can be cut out along rim of pipe and its internal holes;
1) 5 Degree of Freedom: As shown in this design sketch, during work, cutting torch moves in the spatial 3 direction, as well as tilting along pipe longitudinal and radial direction, to be positioned precisely, and perform cutting and beveling on pipes;
2) Control and Drive: The positioning and movement of cutting torch is controlled and traced with CNC controller, detected with encoder, and driven with servo motors;
3) Definition on the 3, 5, 6, 7 axis is demonstrated in next segment:
Based on diameter and wall thickness of pipes, there are 4 options on CNC control axis configurations:
1) X Axis: Cutting torch positioning along pipe length way— For fulfilling fix length cut;
2) Y Axis: Cutting torch positioning along pipe axial 0°- 360° revolve direction— For cutting holes in pipes, interconnected with X axis;
3) Z Axis: Cutting torch positioning along pipe radial diameter up and down--- For different diameters of pipe;

2. Function: 3 Axis has fundamental function of implementing on pipe cut off and hole cutting with straight edge rim;
3. Applicable Pipe Specifications: 3 Axis is suitable for cutting on pipes with small diameter and thin wall: Diameter ranges from Φ80mm to Φ660mm, and thickness from 3mm to 10mm;
4. Typical model: CNC-CP3- 600 or 660/L. Here “L” refers to the max. length of pipe. For example: 6000mm/ 9000mm/ 12000 mm, etc.;
1. Necessary on Getting Oblique Rim on Larger Pipes: When diameters of pipes grow to medium level, such as Φ1400mm, and pipe wall thickness grows thicker, such as 30mm- 50mm, straight rim can not fulfil eligible intersection joint effect on pipes. By this time, it is necessary to cut out oblique edge groove on pipe rims, in slant angle of ±45° - ±50°;
On the basis of X, Y, Z axis,
1) The 4th A axis for controlling cutting torch 0°- 120° swing along pipe radial direction: Leftward and rightward when facing cross section of pipe;
2) The 5th B axis for managing cutting torch 0°- 120° swing along pipe axial direction: Forward and backward when facing cross section of pipe;

3. Advanced calculation and database should be introduced to software operating system, thus completing on ±45° - ±50° beveling along rims:

4. The typical model of 5 axis machine is CNC-CP5-1400/L, for cutting on pipe with the max diameter of Φ1400mm.
Shown in the above sketch, when diameter of pipe exceeds Φ2000mm:
1) The 6th V axis for moving cutting torch along pipe radial direction;
2) The 7th W axis for moving friction roller style pipe support along pipe axial direction;

Should be introduced to the large machine. By this time, the original Y axis on pipe revolve does not grow effective, because the pipe itself is too large and heavy for revolve:

2. The typical models of 6 Axis machine: CNC-CP6-2000/L, for cutting on pipe with the max. diameter of Φ2000mm;
3. Typical models of 7 Axis machine: CNC-CP7-2500/L, and CNC-CP7-3000/L, for cutting on pipe with the max. diameter of Φ2500mm and Φ3050mm respectively.
Depending on diameter of pipe, there are 2 major types of fixtures applied in the machine:
Clamping on small pipe with 3 jaw chucks, and support on longitudinal pipes with X brackets: (Fig.1)

1) Small Diameter Pipe: When diameters of pipe are less than Φ660mm, due to its relatively large motion inertia during rotation, 3 claw chuck need to be adopted in the machine, to clamp one end of pipe firmly;
2) Pipe Length: The entire piece of pipe will be laid onto 3 to 4 sets of X style moving adjustable brackets, which forms mechanical base bed of the machine;

Assemble on friction rollers support for holding on large pipes: (Fig.4)

1) Applicable for: When diameter of pipes exceeds Φ1400mm, due to its heavy pipe weight, effect of pipe revolve inertia weakens greatly, the original 3 claw clamping fixture is not proper any more. By this time, the more free style friction rollers group is equipped with medium to large models CNC Pipe Intersection Cutting Machine;
2) Advantage of friction rollers: It is easy to handle large and heavy pipe onto and away from the operating zone of machine, without additional operation of clamping, fixing and loosening pipes;
