1) Necessity: For steel plates with thickness equals to or higher than 15mm, Y shape welding grooves needs to be cut out along edges before joint butt welding, to make sure fully fusion of welding seam, and get ideal joining effect accordingly;
2) This can be implemented with the Oxygen fuel flame triple cutting system, which is installed at incoming side of machine gantry beam;
1) Importance: This is the central work element of machine, fulfilling on high efficiency and superior quality steel plate butt welding;
2) Welding Modes: Based on thickness of steel plates, it can be either large current SAW submerged arc welding, which are mainstream welding mode, or smaller current CO2 gas shielded welding, as complement; Or plasma welding on alloys;
These include all the supporting function cells equipped in the machine, such as: Welding power supply/ Hydraulic system for driving on joint steel plates clamp/ Elevating copper pads unit beneath steel plates/ Cooling water recycling and refilling tank for dissipating heat during welding/ SAW welding flux recycling system, etc.

1) The above 1st Photo: There is input conveyor at the front side plate coming inlet, and output conveyor at the rear side of machine main frame;
2) Output conveyor roller table has 2 times length as that of the input conveyor, so as to accommodate on lengthened length of finished joint steel plate;
3) To raise on productivity, both sides (Input and output) roller tables can be used for loading on plates onto Steel Plate Flat Butt Welder Machine: One piece at one side, and sent forward toward central operating zone;
4) Considering long length of plates, there are alignment units, which is composed of manual acting leadscrew, at one side of input and output roller tables, and pushed with hydraulic oil cylinders at other side;

2) Mechanical main frame consists of 2 primary individually arranged sections:
a) The higher stationary gantry, with platform at its overhead, and triple flame cutting unit together with SAW butt welding unit being installed at its both sides;
b) The lower welding bench, which is a Y shape welding slot, with motor drive elevating copper pads at its central bottom frame;
3) You can find the separately arranged water tank on the workshop floor, right ahead of steel plate Flat Butt Welder machine main frame, which serves as heat radiator for melt-thru welding;
1) The above 3rd Photo: This is the optional function unit of machine, focusing on butt welding on steel plates with thickness of 15mm to 40mm;
2) Its purpose is to cut out Y shape groove along plate edge before butt welding. So, this working group has similar function as Edge Milling Machine. The angle of groove, which is angle of lateral cutting torches, can be adjusted at will;
3) You can find Oxygen fuel gas panel, being installed at plate incoming side of the Flat Butt Welder main frame;
The above 4th Photos: This is the core unit of steel plate Flat Butt Welder machine. This unit includes:
1) Welding power supply, which is usually put onto overhead platform of gantry. There are several brands of welding power supply to choose from, such as: In the 3rd photo U.S.A Lincoln brand, and the 4th photo Chinese AOTAI brand;
2) SAW welding flux hopper and conveying tubes. For model of machine larger than MP30, flux unit usually is installed onto moving welding torch, so as to reduce flux conveying and recycling distance. SAW welding flux recovery machine, also laid on overhead platform of the steel Plate Butt Welding Machine;
3) Butt welding torch unit, which has position precise managing unit, and welding wire feeding and straining unit.

1. Applicable Industries:
1) MP Series steel Plate Butt Joint Welding Machine is used in industries and projects, when large sizes steel plates are necessary, but not readily available from Steel Company: Steel Structure/ Bridge Construction/ Hoisting Machinery/ Large Diameter Tanks, etc.;
2) Those working sites generating large amount of small scrap plates, which is waste if just throw off;
2. Counterpart Machine: In terms of process technology, this machine is the reverse equipment of CNC Strip Plate Cutting Machine, which cuts out steel plate into smaller pieces;
1) Replacement: As we mentioned earlier, for fulfilling plate joint in steel plate Flat Butt Welder machine with thickness above 15mm, beveling is a must on edges of steel plate. If customers do not select triple flame cutting to be equipped into machine, XBJ series Edge Milling Machine is a recommended equipment;
2) Equipment with Similar Function: As for Oxygen Acetylene triple cutting unit, it has the same working principle and manner as conventional Flame Triple Cutting Machine.
