1) MP40 model is large sized model in its product group. The max. length of welding seam is 4,000mm;
2) In the attached first photo, operators were grinding on the joint welding seams on just finised joint plate, for removing welding reinforcement of the finished jointed plate, fabricated from the Wuxi JACK MP40 model plate Flat Butt Welding Machine:
At Russian customer plant, operator was having manual grinding on reinforcement of welding seams, on finished joint steel plate from Wuxi JACK MP40 model machine: (Fig.1)
a) Function: This machine is for joint welding on 2 pieces of sheet metal plates, with its width up to 4000mm, in the form of automatic large current SAW butt welding and or gas shield butt welding, on single side of the 2 metal plates:

b) Wuxi JACK Patent Melt Thru Welding Techology: With adoption of melt through technology, got its welding seam formed on both sides of the steel plates. In other words, single face welding double face completion. This can greatly increases productivity, operator safety on the operation:

2) Where Used: In many infrastructure projects, such as Railway Bridge/ Highway Bridge/ Bay Bridge/ Crane Building, huge size of steel plates need to be used as raw material of construction, which should be got from large size MP40, MP45 or even MP50 Plate Flat Joint Welding Machine.
a) Challenge and Critical Control Point: Of all the welding positions in machine works, flat butt welding is difficult for getting satisfactory finished welding seam formation, compared with, for example, 45° fillet welding in LHA/ LHC/ LHT models H Beam SAW Welding Machine, or flat fillet welding in 3 in 1 H Beam Fabrication Machine. So, it usually needs to have two sides of welding, especially for joint metal plates with thick thickness and large size in Plate Butt Joint Welding Machine:

b) For this reason, to get satisfactory butt welding effect on thick plates, (Thicker than 15mm), in melt through technology of the machine, welding groove needs to be cutt out ahead of time;
a) Either customer can cut out the bevel by means of a set of XBJ model Edge Milling Machine, or CNC-CG model Flame Triple Cutting Machine;
b) Or ask for optional flame triple cutting torch mechanism, to be equipped on the MP series Plate Butt Joint Welding Machine, as shown in the attached 2nd photo and below. It is flame triple cutting with A.C. inverter control speed, to cut out grooves on the edge of plates into required chamfer (U/ V/ X type bevels):

a) Length: The conveyors have standard length of 6m ~ 15m for feed in conveyor, and 15m ~ 30m for send out conveyor, in Wuxi JACK MP40 model machine. And special length of the conveyors is available for production, based on designated length of raw material sheet metal from customers;
b) Driving Segment: For standard length of conveyors in the machine, there is one motor drive segment at input conveyor roller table, and two motor drive segments roller tables at output conveyor respectively;
c) Alignment for Linearity: Holding wheels and plate pushing units are equipped on the input and output conveyors of Wuxi JACK MP series plate Flat Butt Welding Machine, ensuring complete lengthways linearity of the plate during joining, thus fully guaranteeing stable/ controllable/ high quality butt joint effect on plates;
d) Sometimes customer may need more than 2 pieces of plate joint together in the machine: The attached 3rd plate jointed with the joint plates, and output conveyor should be extended its length accordingly;

b) You can see besides motor for driving the welding torch up and down/ SAW welding wire feeding unit/ SAW welding flux conveying and recycling tube, there are welding wire straightening unit, for keeping linearity of welding wire, screw type adjusting unit for managing on pressing force of welding wire feeder:
