1) Mechanical Structure: MP20 model Plate Joint Welding Machine has split type main body, as shown in the first photo, which was taken at Wuxi JACK assembly workshop:
Check from lateral side, the machine main frame has two independant parts: Higher gantry and lower welding worktable: (Fig.1)
2) Function and Specification: MP20 model machine produces raw materials for manufacturing facilities: Integral piece of longer and or wider metal plates. The biggest width of original plate for joint is 2,000mm:
The joint larger plate, butt welded from original 2 pieces of smaller ones from Wuxi JACK MP20 model machine: (Fig.2)
3) Related Machine: Plate Butt Joint Welding Machine is reverse equipment of Strip Plate Cutting Machine, which cut metal plate into narrow strip metal plate. With these two types of equipment, you can get any size of metal plate for your necessity.
1) Central Welding Technique: MP series Plate Flat Butt Welding Machine joint sheet metal plates in the welding mode of melt thru welding -- Single side welding and double side forming. The working principle is to butt weld the 2 pieces of sheet metal plate with large current --- For SAW (Submerged arc welding), specification of welding power supply is ZD1250, Rated output current of 1250A:

2) Water Cooling for Melt Thru: There is copper pad mechanism for holding sheet metal plates firmly during working of the MP series Plate Butt Joint Machine. These copper pads help force formation of welding seam, and are water cooled in the fully penetrated welding process. Hence the product name of “Water Cool SAW configuration” get from. Please check the attached 2nd photo on SAW butt welding seam in the equipment:
The large capacity water tank, for circulation of cooling water, during large current SAW melt thru butt welding, in Wuxi JACK MP20 Flat Butt Welding Machine: (Fig.4)
a) Welding work table of the machine has solid base, as shown in the attached first photo. The clear view on V slot on its top section, which is used for implementing on melt thru welding, please see the attached 3rd photo and below. The above mentioned copper pad is located at bottom of the V slot. You can identify there are row of pressing blocks on its above, with a clearance for pushing in and clamping of workpiece (Metal plates for joint):

b) Welding Grounding Circuit: The black color flat shape earthing cables are connected between every two pieces of adjacent pressing blocks, forming circuit of large current SAW butt welding, with good conductivity, and good welding seam:

c) Copper Pads Elevation: Considering varying thickness of metal plates to be joint in this plate Flat Butt Welding Machine, the copper pad mechanism is elevating type, driven with worm gear reducer, as can be identified in the attached first photo, which is at bottom of melt thru welding work table:

a) Mechanical gantry platform right behind the welding work table has broad breadth on its top, which is for holding welding power supply/ SAW welding flux recycling machine/ welding torch group of the Plate Joint Welding Machine at welding side, and triple cutting system at the other side of the gantry:

b) Welding Groove Prepare: The flame triple cutting torch and its working process please check the 4th and 5th photos, and attached video. This is optional configuration in MP series Plate Butt Joint Machine, for cutting out U/ V/ X types beveling on edges of thick plates before butt welding, to get broader and deeper welding fusion, and fully penetration welding. It works in the same way as Triple Flame Cutting Machine; The other kind of equipment with mechanical way of making beveling is Hobbing Cutter:
Oxygen fuel triple cutting, at plate sending in side of MP20 machine: (Fig.9)
a) Power cables and control cables in the Plate Butt Joint Machine are applied by way of drag chain, and junction boxes at the lateral side of gantry beam;
b) Operating panel is integrated onto top cover of electric control board, which is put alongside gantry body of the machine;
c) Black color grounding cable: Please check the 6th photo.
