A. Usage and Application of LHT T Structure BOX H Beam SAW Welding Machine:

1. Function: LHT model open structure BOX H Beam Welding Machine carries out submerged arc welding on 2 pieces of H Beam simultaneously, or one piece of BOX Beam on its middle bottom position of T frame:

a) 2 pieces of H Beam, being laid onto 2 arrays of supporting rack, at left and right both sides of machine mechanical T frame: (Fig.1)

b) When customer wants to have BOX Beam welding, there will be a small platform connecting the 2 pieces of T frame upright columns, for laying BOX Beam: (Fig.2)

2. Machine Nomination: As can be observed from the above 2 photos, the mechanical main frame of LHT model has mechanical body of “T structure”, thus its name got from:

3. Applicable Workpieces of LHT Model T Structure BOX H Beam Welding Machine:

1) H Beam: As can be observed from the above photos and design sketch, same as LHC model, T frame has open structure, which has no restriction on size of H Beam. This is the reason that, there is only one model in LHC and LHT model machine, one size for all: H Beam web height from 200mm to 2,000mm;

2) BOX Beam: The side length of BOX Beam cross section depends on dimension of machine bottom small platform, usually the Max. 1,200mm;

4. Application of LHT BOX H Beam T Structure SAW Welding Machine:

1) Feature: LHT has the intermediate structure between LHC model and LHA series, with both open structure for infinite size of H Beam, and gantry frame structure for ability of welding on 2 pieces of H Beam simultaneously, which brings along numerous flexibilities on its application;

2) Where Used: The LHT model is the counterpart of LHC model, in fabricating large size welding H Beam in semi-automatic working site, and also can be worked as an individual equipment;

3) Application Form: Use of LHT model is very flexible: It can be either single equipment, or 2 sets together to form into a small working line, depending on customer preference and process technology design:

a) One set of Wuxi JACK LHT model BOX H Beam SAW Welding Machine as individual equipment on H Beam SAW welding: (Fig.4)

b) Two sets of Wuxi JACK LHT model machines constitute a small production line: (Fig.5)

4) Counterpart Models: Also, customer can use LHA5C and LHZ55Z models gantry structure machine, for SAW welding on large size H Beam. But, for the same size of H Beam produced, LHA series has wider machine frame compared with LHT model.


B. T frame of LHT BOX H Beam T Structure SAW Welding Machine:

Significance: Frame is core and foundation for machine normal operation. The T frame machine body has functions of:  

1. Bear Weight of Main Components of LHT BOX H Beam SAW Welding Machine:

1) Welding Supplementary Units: Including electric control board, two sets of SAW welding flux recovery unit, around 70~ 80kgs weight each set at average, depending on how much SAW welding flux being loaded;

2) Two sets of SAW welding torch unit, covering motor drive moving carriage, welding torch, welding wire feeder, welding arc tracing unit;

3) Drive and transmission unit and accessories;

4) On Site Arrangement: Altogether, only the two sets of SAW welding power source of are put on workshop floor. The remaining units of the machine are all fit onto the machine T frame;

2. Attain Rigidity and Strength in T Frame of LHT T Structure BOX H Beam Welding Machine:

1) Drive welding torches in adjusting welding speed to finish SAW welding operation; For these purposes, T frame should be strong and sturdy, with sufficient strength and firmness, in rough working environment of SAW welding: Lots of heat and fume as well as dust generated;

2) Rigidity and strength of T frame are all calculated and simulated carefully in the early stage of design, advanced and reasonable. Main members of T Frame are distressed after welding, featuring in safe and reliable running with long term service life;

3) Double Drive: Same as cantilever structure LHC model machine, movement of T frame is double drive: Both sides of T frame are driven with two sets of A.C. motor and reducer, with speed controlled with A.C. inverter;

4) Limit Switches: At the lateral side of rails, there are stop wheel units, ensuring smooth and safe running of T Structure BOX H Beam Welding Machine T frame;

5) Electric control board is put at T frame on bottom of its chassis. Such arrangement not only has merit of short and easy cable routing, but also can be served as counter weight for T frame movement. Please check below picture (In red color square frame):

C. Operation of LHT T Structure BOX H Beam Welding Machine:

1.  Welding Mode and Technology: Single Arc or tandem arc submerged arc welding, in the position of 45° fillet welding:

2. T Frame Movement along Rail in LHT BOX H Beam T Structure SAW Welding Machine:

1) Same as cantilever structure LHC and gantry frame LHA models, T frame movement can be shifted between high speed (Idle, 3,200mm/min.) and low speed (welding, 240 ~2,400mm/min.), based on practical condition during operation:

2) 2 sets of Wuxi JACK LHT model machines perform SAW welding on H Beam: (Fig.9)

3) SAW Welding Speed is controlled with A.C. inverter. Its working principle:

a) A.C. inverter rectifies A.C. electricity into D.C. electricity;

b) Then inverts D.C. electricity back into A.C. electricity of adjustable voltage and frequency;

c) The inverted A.C. electricity then powers A.C. motor, attaining purpose of smooth speed control on BOX Beam/ H Beam welding;

d) During SAW welding operation, A.C. inverter gives protection on motors against overload, over voltage, over current, and phase failure, etc.;

e) Also, it can execute automatic compensation against voltage fluctuation, ensuring stable running of motor in the process of H Beam welding.


D. Function Units in LHT T Structure BOX H Beam SAW Welding Machine:

1. SAW Welding Flux Recovery Units in LHT BOX H Beam T Structure SAW Welding Machine:

1) Importance: All the H Beam SAW welding is equipped with automatic flux recovery and recycling unit. It is requisite configuration for LHC, LHT, LHA models machines;

2) Working Principle of SAW Welding Flux Recovery Unit:

a) During SAW welding operation, flux flows onto welding seam by way of flux hopper, (The yellow one fit at front side of gantry beam) and manual valve, guaranteeing on normal welding procedure implemented:

The 2 sets of SAW welding flux machine and yellow color hopper, being installed at front top beam of Wuxi JACK LHT model machine: (Fig.10)

b) Recovery tube recycles redundant flux following welding tip for next time use;

c) By screening of sieve, those fluxes that can be recycled will flow into flux hopper again by way of manual valve;

d) Dust is collected into welding flux recovery unit, and those flux in block remains inside flux hopper;

2. Pneumatic System in LHT BOX H Beam Welding Machine:

1) Drive Mode: All the machines on H Beam SAW welding do not have hydraulic system. Power momentum for machine operation is supplied with motor reducer and air cylinder;

2) The welding arc tracker system utilizes both mechanical type and pneumatic type, eliminating common problems with solitary mechanical unit, including huge impact, high failure rate, unreliable tracking, etc.:

3) Benefit: By pre-setting on the air cylinder, welding torch is guided along the welding seam all the while during the entire SAW welding operation, making sure stable running and good welding quality.
