1. Workpiece Sizes and Models of CNC-CP6/7-2000~3000/L 7 Axis CNC Large Pipe Flame Cutting Machine:
a) Pipe Dimension: As the largest model group of CNC-CG series CNC Pipe Cutting Machine, 6 and 7 axis series focus on cutting large pipes/ tanks, with dimensions in the scope of:
1) Diameter from Φ2,000mm to Φ3,000mm;
2) Pipe wall thickness from 30mm up to 100mm;
3) Pipe length up to 12m;
4) Material: Carbon steel;
5) Pipe weight: Up to 25 ton:

5) Note: The machine frame and friction roller supports are straight line, not curve as shown in the above photo. It is just because the too large dimension of the machine, so the photo taken with such effect;
2. Applied Industries of 6 and 7 Axis Large CNC Pipe Intersection Flame Cutting Machine:
1) Business Case: The attached photos were taken at customer from Oil and Gas facility at Texas U.S.A. The model of this large machine is CNC-CP7-3000/12. It was exported by Wuxi JACK in the end of year 2018. Since then, this set of heavy duty machine runs in very good condition at customer’s site;
2) Applied Industries: In the field of LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) tank production/ Oil and Gas Pipeline/ Stadium Steel Structure Construction... etc. There exists huge amount of steel pipes, of varying diameters and lengths, that should be fabricated into wide variety of finished branches components;
3. Functions of 6 and 7 Axis Large CNC Pipe Flame Cutting Machine:
1) Cutting Technology: Considering material and overall dimension of workpieces, flame cutting is more applied than plasma cutting in these large machine;
2) Functions: Also considering the large sizes of pipes/ tanks, the curve profile joint line is not applicable. Instead, straight line with straight or slant bevel edge rim, are usually cut these large workpieces:

B. Technical Characteristics of CNC-CP6/7-2000-3000/L Flame 7 Axis Large CNC Pipe Cutting Machine:
1. The 6th V Axis and 7th W Axis of Large CNC Pipe Flame Cutting Machine:
In operation of CNC Pipe Intersection Flame Cutting Machine, these 2 control axis are introduced specifically for cutting on large diameter pipes, on the basis of 5 axis control:
a) Indication on 5 axis X/ Y/ Z/ A/ B on small to medium pipe cutting: (Fig.5)
1) Cutting torch moves along axial direction of pipe: X Axis;
2) Pipe revolves 0° ~ 360°: Y Axis;
3) Cutting torch moves up and down: Z Axis;
4) Cutting torch swing along radial direction of pipe: A Axis: 0° ~ ±45°;
5) Cutting torch swing along axial direction of pipe: B Axis: 0° ~ ±45°;
Indication on the 6th and 7th Axis V/ W on large pipe cutting: (Fig.6)
When pipe diameters reaches and exceeds Φ2,000mm, the additional degree of freedom, the 6th V axis should be adopted:
6) Cutting torch move along axial direction of pipe: V Axis;
When pipe diameters reaches and exceeds Φ2,500mm up to Φ3,000mm,
7) Workpiece support friction rollers move along axial direction of pipe: W Axis
2. Cutting Torch Swiveling Unit 7 Axis CNC Large Pipe Flame Cutting Machine:
Compared with cutting torch unit of 5 axis model, the cutting torch of 7 axis model machine is more complicated: (Fig.7)
Shown in the above photo:
1) The cutting torch unit here has flexible articulate joint, allowing on its infinite revolve and tilt motion;
2) Equipped with arc shape angular ruler, to demonstrate on swiving angle of cutting torch at that moment;
3) Adopts gear and or bevel gear at all the revolving joints of the cutting torch unit, not a shaft at that of the competitors. Such kind of design in 7 Axis Large CNC Pipe Cutting Machine makes sure motioning and positioning of the cutting torch, boosting the highest degree of accuracy, on cutting pipe effect.
C. Main Units of CNC-CP6/7-2000-3000/L 7 Axis Large CNC Pipe Flame Cutting Machine:

1) Cutting torch carriage:
To have safe and convenient operation, cutting torch carriage is installed in the air with motor drive elevation type, with its max. height depending on max. diameter of workpiece pipe. In this way, various diameters of pipe within machine specification can be cut with great ease;
2) Aerial Passage and lifting platform in Wuxi JACK large CNC Pipe Cutting Machine: (Fig.9)
Shown in the above photo, there is:
a) A passage of walking isle in the air, right above machine gantry frame, with same length as the large machine itself;
b) An extending and shrinking platform at front end of the passage, close to operation station of machine,
c) So that operator and working staff can get access onto top of the large pipe during cutting and beveling;
3) Friction Rollers for Workpiece Supporting and Revolving in Wuxi JACK CNC Large Pipe Cutting Machine: (Fig.10)
Workpiece pipes/ tanks can be hoisted onto and off such friction rollers without hinderance, labor saving and time saving;
2. Electric Control System of 6 and 7 Axis CNC Large Pipe Flame Cutting Machine:
Industrial computer, control board, and remote operating unit of Wuxi JACK machine on pipe cutting: (Fig.11)
1) Dedicated use Industrial level computer, together with supplementary pendant station. All the embedded functions of operating system and HMI (Human machine interface) are developed on the basis of pipe cutting and beveling technique and technology. Outsider on pipe cutting can command operation of the machine without difficulty;
2) Compatible with AutoCAD for Workpiece File into the machine: This means that, customer can make design on finished product of their workpiece with AutoCAD, and copy it into CNC CPU of the machine control system directly, without the step of format conversion;
3) Add the pipe testing unit, so electric control system knows how much distance the workpiece rotates, how many angle the workpiece rotate, and compare these data with electric control system. In this way, electric control system of the CNC Pipe Intersection Flame Cutting Machine always knows the start point and the orientation of workpiece. Detection data needs to be exchanged and processed with electric control system.
D. Operation on CNC-CP6/7-2000-3000/L 7 Axis CNC Large Pipe Flame Cutting Machine:
1. Operation Station in 7 Axis Large CNC Pipe Cutting Machine:
1) Style: Compared with 3 axis small and 5 axis medium models machines on small and medium pipes, which operator usually stands on workshop floor to manage and observe on operation process,
2) Here in 7 axis large model machine, considering the large height of cutting point, which usually at the height of 5m in the air, (Equals to: The 3m diameter pipe plus 1 m height friction roller, plus half to one meter clearance between cutting torch and pipe), it is not feasible for operator to stand on workshop floor. Instead, operating station should be placed at the previously mentioned air passage:
3) At American customer facility, operator works at aerial operating station on passage, of Wuxi JACK CNC-CP7-3000/12 model 7 Axis Large CNC Pipe Cutting Machine: (Fig.12)
2. Generating Cutting Program in CNC Pipe Cutting Machine:
1) User Friendly Operation: This is accomplished very conveniently. There are different level of operating interface, for intuitively selecting on type of cutting, and related detailed cutting parameters:

3. Workpiece Supporting Tools for Running 7 Axis Large CNC Pipe Flame Cutting Machine:
During operation on large pipe/ tank cutting, because of large dimensions of workpiece, besides automatic operation of machine, there are some assistant tools necessary:
1) Oxygen Fuel Piercing Gun:
a) Under the situation of thick wall pipe, especially between 50mm and 100mm, to acquiring high efficiency and performance cutting, a better practice to save time is to use flame piercing gun to perforate hole before cutting:
b) Operator pieces a small hole, for initiation on next time hole cutting, in Wuxi JACK CNC-CP7-3000/12 model Large CNC Pipe Cutting Machine, on a piece of 100mm wall thickness tank, by means of hand held Oxygen fuel cutting gun: (Fig.15)
c) This can speed up operation process to a large degree;
2) Hoist Tool for Cut Off Scrap:
a) The operation of cutting hole in the pipe will inevitably produce scrap material of round shape;
b) Had better to remove it before unloading the pipe off the machine. A suggestion is to use magnetic sling to take off the scrap:
