  • Q How to Select Proper Model and Specification of I H Beam Assembly Machine?

    A Below checklists need to be considered before decision making:
    1. 1) H Beam Size:
    1. a) The max. web height of T Beam H Beam: Corresponds with models of Z15 (1500mm) / Z18 / Z20/ Z25/ Z30;
    2. b) Other important specification: The max. flange and web thickness; Flange width, this determines the max. capacity of machine;
    For example, in early January 2026, when an Indian customer raised inquiry and request to Wuxi JACK engineer, he wanted to have the machine with capability of producing H Beam with the max. sizes of:
    1. a) H Beam web height up to 3000mm, which should be Z30;
    2. b) H Beam flange width 1200mm- 400mm wider than common seen 800mm;
    3. c) H Beam flange thickness 100mm;
    4. d) H Beam web thickness 60mm;
    Very heavy duty, a rather challenge on producer of I H Beam Assembly and Tack Welding Machine;
    1. 2) Control Mode: Assembly and tack welding, customer prefer automatic type, or manual?
    2. 3) Are there any other special requirement from customers on the machine?

    2. 2) Especially Assembly step, the first and fundamental step during the entire H Beam fabrication, the 2 types of machines have identical structure and running principle;
    3. 3) The SAW welding and straightening working cells are arranged right following assembly cell, completing task of T Beam H Beam fabrication with single set of machine;
    4. 4) Similar Appearance: For this reason, I H Beam Assembly Machine and H Beam 3 in 1 Assembly Welding Straightening Machine have very similar appearance;

  • Q What does “Open Mechanical Structure” refer to for I H-beam Welding Machine?

    4. 4) Customer determine and select on which type of I H-beam Welding Machine is better for operation, depending on H Beam specifications / process technology design/ workshop layout plan/ budget level of customer facility.

  • Q What are Advantages of Open Frame I H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine?

    1. 1) One Size fits for All: Because there is no confinement on placement of workpiece (BOX I H Beams) in open structure, so, size range of applicable workpieces has great extensive range than enclosed gantry frame types machines. In other words, when customer plan to produce new batch of H Beam, they do not need to fret over whether the current open structure I H-beam Welding Machine is applicable or not;
    2. 2) So, any sizes of H Beam, from the smallest web height 200mm, to the max. web height 2000mm, can be placed into LHC or LHT open frame machines;
    3. 3) Besides, other common seen steel structure workpieces, especially BOX Beam, can also be welded in open structure machines;
    4. 4) When customer plan to introduce new types of workpieces, say, long pipe/ post... the existing open structure machine can also be used without or with very few modifications on the existing machine.

  • Q What are Welding Mode and Operation in Open Structure H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine?

    1. 1) Major Welding Mode: 45° fillet SAW welding is the No.1 choice to be implemented in all models of machine. And, among this, majority is with single arc SAW welding; When customer need higher welding velocity, or thickness of H Beam flange and web are larger than 60mm, tandem arc SAW should be used;
    2. 2) Promise Heavy Welding: The strongest point of sole purpose I H-beam Welding Machine is to get solid welding seam formation in fabricated BOX T I H Beams, which guarantees sufficient penetration depth/ broad cover face of formed welding seam on finished workpieces;
    3. 3) Mature Welding Technique: SAW and other types of welding is managed by means of professional welding power supply (Single/ twin/ tandem arc welding machines), together with system of assistant welding operation, including welding torch position detect and control, welding wire feeding and straining unit, etc.;

  • Q What are Supply Range of Various types of I H-beam Welding Machine, including LHA series Gantry Frame, LHC model Trolley Column, and LHT model Open Structure?

    1. 1. This is a good question, that often neglect by customer and supplier company, and sometimes cause controversy. For example, in end of December 2025, when a Vietnam customer communicated with Wuxi JACK on LHA model H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine, we forgot to remind customer that, the 18m long parallel rails for gantry movement is not included supply range, because unlike rails of CNC Flame Plasma Cutting Machine, which need to be machined, for rails of I H-beam Welding Machine, the parallel rails do not need to be machined, do, it is not in scope of supply. This is common practice, but need to confirm with customer when making quotation;
    2. 2. Basically, supply scope of all types of I H-beam Welding Machine:
    1. 1) Mechanical main frame, including motor drive moving trolley for LHC, gantry frame for LHA, and T frame open structure for LHT;
    2. 2) SAW welding system, including different types of welding machines, welding torch mechanism, supplementary welding units, flux conveying and reuse machines;
    3. 3) Drive and transmission system on mechanical main frame;
    4. 4) Electric control system of machine;
    1. 3. Unless specifically designated by customer and negotiated accordingly, supply range of I H-beam Welding Machine do not include:
    1. 1) 2 arrays of triangular H Beam support rack;
    2. 2) Parallel rails for frame movement;
    3. 3) Cable overhang racks;
    But we provide drawing of these items for customer producing these items. The reason we do not provide these items is, it is easy to produce, but have large size and heavy weight, which will greatly increase logistic cost of I H-beam Welding Machine. To save freight charge on the machine for customers, we exclude these items from supply range of the machine.

  • Q How Many Operators are Necessary for Running on I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine?

    A This is another important question customer concerns during machine purchase analysis, and actually differs based on practical condition at customer site. the major factors affecting number of operators include:
    1. 1) Model and design of machine. For example, for LHA series H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine, there are 2 branches of: LHAC lateral operating type, which usually need 2 operators work on one machine; While one operator is sufficient for working on LHAZ middle operating type;
    2. 2) Quantity of machines on site: Especially for I H-beam Welding Machine, very often customer purchase more than one set of machine: For LHC model at automatic H-beam production line, usually 4 sets in a line; For LHA series gantry frame moving and LHT model open structure T frame I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine, one or two sets are installed in H Beam production workshop. Under ideal condition, one operator can take care on operation of 2 machines simultaneously, which can raise productivity;
    3. 3) Operator Proficiency: This is another controversy sometimes happened during business exploration. For example, also in end of December 2025, the Vietnam customer discussed with Wuxi JACK engineer on how many operator is necessary for operating on PHJ and ZHJ series 3 in 1 I H-beam Welding Machine. The Vietnam customer questioned on whether only one operator is capable of working on one set of the 3 in 1 machine, he told us that, in Vietnam factories, customer manager arrange on 2 operators to work on the machine: One as lead and one as main; On the other hand, from Wuxi JACK perspective, if operator is proficient, only one people is sufficient for managing on the 3 in 1 I H-beam Welding Machine.

    3. 3) Set up LAN (Local area network) between office, mobile phone, laptop and I H Beam SAW Welding Machine itself. Then, welding data can be shared between on site and remote.

    1. 1) Electric control system consists of control board and operating panel.   • Q How to Guarantee Stable and Smooth Movement of Gantry Frame, the Critical Work Action of I H Beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine?

    1. 1. Gantry movement can be shifted between high speed and low speed. It is controlled with A.C. inverter, which rectifies A.C. electricity into D.C. electricity, and then inverts the D.C. electricity back into A.C. electricity of adjustable voltage and frequency. The inverted A.C. electricity then powers A.C. motor, attaining purpose of speed control;
    2. 2. Gantry moving speed (Welding speed) is displayed real time on digital operating panel of I H Beam SAW Welding Machine, in flashing mode. Operator can monitor on this velocity to judge it is proper or not;
    3. 3. During installation of H Beam Welding Machine, levelness of parallel rails for gantry movement should be guaranteed within tolerance:

    2. 2) Adjust clearance of rail joints at carriage, welding arm and gantry, making clearance between eccentric rollers and rail ≤0.3mm,flexible motion without blockage.

  • Q Please Give Daily and Regular Maintenance and Service Check Points on Gantry Frame I H Beam Welding Machine?

    A
    1. 1. No sundries on rail surface and its both sides. Clean working site regularly, guaranteeing smooth and stable running of gantry;
    2. 2. Adjust clearance of control rollers of rails regularly, to maintain it within stipulated tolerance;
    3. 3. Clean off blockage on the sieve of flux recovery unit regularly, before and after each shift of I H Beam SAW Welding Machine everyday;
    4. 4. Welding tip and wire are insulated from welding head with insulating board. Check prime condition of insulating board regularly, and replace a new one immediately upon defect condition to be found. Prohibit on short circuit;
    5. 5. Maintenance of welding machine please see its manual book, which is provided customer together with manual book of I H Beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine;
    6. 6. Lubrication
    1. 1) Apply lithium based grease on rolling bearings, replacing once a year;
    2. 2) Apply 30# mechanical oil on reducers, replacing once a year;
    3. 3) Apply 30# mechanical oil on racks, replacing once a week.
