Background: One March 23rd to 26th 2026, discussion was held between Cambodian customer engineer and Wuxi JACK engineers, on some technical issues concerning production of welding H-beam, with the 2 sets of Wuxi JACK newly started ZHJ15 model Three in One H-beam Welding Machine, at customer facility. It represents the typical queries on how to put the machine into effective use, so as to effectively produce high quality H-beam, by controlling below 3 critical points of:
1) Make proper installation and precision adjustment on 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine;
2) Welding technology involved in the process, especially selection between “constant current” or “constant voltage”, set up of welding current, voltage, speed;
3) Criterion on appraising produced H-beam, and machine tool involved for correction;
Here let us have a brief review and summary on this 4 straight days communication, which is valuable for record, as below:
1) Business Case on the 2 sets of ZHJ15 model machines, how we win customer order;
2) Problems encountered by customer in March 2026 on producing H-beam;

6) Summary on effective using Three in One H-beam Fabrication Machine
1) Customer is the largest and most renowned steel structure company in Cambodia, headquarter in capital city Phnom Penh. As introduced in article: To be Continued, from Proposal to Delivery Steel Plate Butt Welding Machine, customer first contacted with Wuxi JACK at beginning of May 2025, for purchasing one set of MP20 Steel Plate Flat Butt Welding Machine. In the process of communication, customer found that Wuxi JACK is the 1st Chinese company producing high quality 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine from year 2009, which they also planned to buy 2 sets in year 2025;
2) Customer started their market investigation on the Three in One H-beam Fabrication Machine from year 2024, and went to numerous Chinese producer companies accordingly. After on site check, they still had not made decision on which company they should buy this Three in One H-beam Fabrication Machine from, until in July 2025, their team went to China again for checking on Wuxi JACK machines;
3) Customer went to several customers of Wuxi JACK in China:
a) Yangzhou city at a hoist crane customer, for MP23 model Steel Plate Butt Welding Machine: (Fig.1)

b) 2 cities in Zhejiang province for 3 in 1 H Shaped Metal Frames Welding Machine respectively: (Fig.2)

4) Customer Comment on Wuxi JACK Machines:
After on site check, customer got deep impression on Wuxi JACK products. As they told Wuxi JACK engineer, just from outlook, compared with machine produced by other company, Wuxi JACK machines look far more stronger and durable;
Below are major timelines on 1 set of MP20, and the 2 sets of ZHJ15:
1) Decision Make: At end of July 2025, after customer investigated Wuxi JACK machines, they decided to select Wuxi JACK as supplier on their planned purchased 3 sets of machines, including 1 set of MP20 Flat Butt Welding Machine, and 2 sets of ZHJ15 model 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine;
2) Time Schedule on 3 Machines Purchase:
Customer planned to buy the totally 3 sets of machines with 2 stages:
a) First MP20 Plate Butt Welding Machine, the machine was expected to be delivered from Wuxi JACK in November 2025, with sea transportation from Shanghai;
b) Following that is the 2 sets of ZHJ15 model 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machines, customer planned to get the 2 machines by beginning of year 2026;
a) In August 2025, final price was confirmed between Cambodian customer and Wuxi JACK, and advance payment on MP20 made soon in the same month;
b) In October 2025, after customer had factory acceptance on MP20 at Wuxi JACK and came back to Phnom Penh, contracted was signed on the 2 sets of ZHJ15 model machine;
1) At beginning of November 2025, after Wuxi JACK got advance payment, production kicked off immediately;
2) At end of December 2025, production and commissioning completed, and Wuxi JACK notified customer accordingly;
3) At beginning of January 2026, customer paid visit to Wuxi JACK the 3rd time, to have acceptance test on ZHJ15 before shipment;
4) At end of January 2026, the 2 sets of ZHJ15 model 3 in 1 H-beam Vertical Welding Machine were shipped from Shanghai to Sihanoukville;
5) In February 2026, when people celebrated Spring Festival in China, the 2 sets of 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machines were installed at customer workshop in Phnom Penh.
First, let us understand capability of these 2 sets of ZHJ15 machine:
a) The machine is capable of producing welding H-beam with dimensions of: (Fig.3)

1) Flange Thickness T: 5- 30 mm, Q345
2) Flange Width B: 145- 750 mm
3) Web Thickness A: 4- 20 mm
4) Web Height H: 160- 1500 mm
5) H-beam Length L: 4 000- 15 000 mm
1) H-beam Assembly Welding Straightening integral speed: 350- 1,200 mm/min.
2) SAW Welding: SAW (Submerged Arc Welding, HUANYUAN MZ-1000 Inverter type)
3) SAW Wire feeder: Single arc welding (Φ2.5- Φ5.0mm), like 4mm thickness web use Φ2.5mm wire;
4) CO2 MAG Welding: One set of HUAYUAN made MAG welding machine, can change by manual, for intermittent welding;
5) H-beam Welding: One side is continuous SAW welding, the other side MAG intermittent welding. Or change welding source for SAW continuous welding both sides;
6) PLC control system for intermittent CO2 MAG welding;
7) Max. Weld Toe Size of Single Pass: 10 mm
As can be found from the above, this is special type higher configured 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine. It can be used as 3 types of different machines with single set:
1) Besides the main purpose of H-beam 3 in 1 assembly welding straightening,
2) Also work as H-beam Assembly Machine, with PLC controlled CO2 gas shielded intermittent welding: (Fig.4)

3) And H-beam Flange Straightening Machine, with straightening capacity of up to 40mm flange thickness;
On March 23 year 2026, customer engineer contacted with Wuxi JACK engineer, on deviation of fabricated H-beam along longitudinal body, that straightness is not up to their standard. This can be judged from H-beam cross section and along its lengthways direction:
1) H-beam cross section: Web not straight, with respect to flange, not in perfect 90° right angle: (Fig.5)

2) H-beam longitudinal body: Flange not straight, that there exists curve along its up to 15m length: (Fig.6)

So, the questions facing customer engineer and Wuxi JACK team are:
1) Is the deviation acceptable?
2) Is this just temporary issue, or permanent?
3) What is root cause behind that?
4) How to solve?
Communication was held for 4 consecutive days, from March 23 to 26 in year 2026. Both sides have clear idea on how to find the root cause, and solve the issue accordingly. In sequence, both sides explored below 4 key points:
1) Precision management on Three in One H-beam Welding Machine;
2) Machine operation: Welding process technology and mode selection;
3) Criterion on appraising H-beam eligibility;
4) Sharp tool on H-beam longitudinal deflection: H-beam Horizontal Press Straightening Machine;
Let us have a brief review on main topics involved during communication in this 4 days:
The foremost on putting effective operation of 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine is its correct installation and precision management. Below are the first suggestions raised by Wuxi JACK engineers:
When the machine is shipped, its upper gantry is under disassembled condition. After transportation and installation, a precision adjustment is required on upper gantry:
1) Centerline: Taking groove of the upper position downward pressure roller as the ideal centerline of the Three in One H-beam Welding Machine. Centers of the clamping rollers on both sides of H-beam flange and web should be precisely adjusted (Using eccentric rollers), to ensure that centerline of the clamping rollers coinciding with centerline of the downward pressure roller:

2) Eccentric Rollers: Shafts of clamping rollers on H-beam flange and web plate are eccentric type, which can be rotated for fine tuning. After adjustment, tighten these shafts with set screws;

a) Also, regarding linear guide rail clearance on the upper gantry, during installation on the machine, be sure to measure and ensure the linear guide rail clearance is consistent; That is, the linear guide rails on both sides of the upper gantry should be parallel;
b) The upper gantry clamping mechanism has a copper plate for adjusting the gap, and the center of the upper pressure roller can also be finely adjusted left and right using the gap adjustment, as shown in the diagram below:

1. From customer perspective, the 2 major tasks for making sure H-beam proper production are:
1) Function units adjustment, based on specifications of H-beam;
2) Welding technology parameters set up, also personalized under specifications of H-beam;
Let us have a brief discussion now:
a) Customer engineer confirmed that, “these both of rollers are not balance speed also different”;
b) Wuxi JACK engineer communicated that, “these two straightening rollers can be adjusted to rise or fall independently, controlled with two sets of hydraulic valves at different speeds”;
c) However, to ensure that the final straightening position is the same, they can achieve on effective straightening;
d) Front view on the 2 pieces of strong straightening rollers of Wuxi JACK 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine: (Fig.10)

a) Work Principle: The downward pressure of H-beam flange straightening rollers is adjusted according to the actual straightening effect, with each side adjusted individually until the flange and web are perpendicular;
b) The ruler on machine outlet is only a reference. For producing on H-beams batch with the same specification, once the straightening rollers are adjusted to the correct position, they do not need to be moved again in the Three in One H-beam Fabrication Machine;
c) Batch Production: After straightening one piece of H-beam, the flange straightening rollers do not need to be raised; you can directly straighten the next H-beam:
d) From customer engineer: Straightening roller, its stroke ruler, and produced H Beam from ZHJ15 Three in One H-beam Welding Machine: (Fig.11)

Below was proposed by Wuxi JACK engineer to customer engineer during these 4 days communication:
1) First, need to fine tune the machine itself. The method is, use 2 pieces of two 8mm thick plates, 200mm wide, approximately 3 meters long, as flange and web;
2) Way of Adjustment: Without starting welding power supply, after welding wire feeder, clamp flange and web plates simultaneously, then press flange and web downward with downward press roller overhead;
3) Check symmetry and perpendicularity of clamped flange and web, adjust precision of the Three in One H-beam Fabrication Machine, and then proceed with welding:
4) Customer made fine tuning on precision of ZHJ15 model Three in One H Beam Welding Machine: (Fig.12)

After precision adjustment on “hardware” mechanical function units of 3 in 1 H-beam Vertical Welding Machine, both sides checked “software” operation parameters on welding and speed:
a) The set up differs under SAW or GMAW welding, which affect welding performance;
b) For these 2 sets of ZHJ15 model 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine, it can fulfil both continuous SAW and intermittent GMAW. In the case of continuous SAW welding, the SAW welding power supply should be set as ““Constant Current”:
c) Set up proper mode of welding with power supply: (Fig.13)

Below are several scenarios on fabricating different specifications of H Beam:
a) First, customer produced H Beam with flange thickness 10mm, and web thickness 8mm. They set up welding current as 450A, and voltage as 30V:

b) T Beam welding versus H Beam welding: Welding current also differs when welding T Beam as the 1st round, and welding H Beam as the 2nd round: A bit smaller current for T Beam welding, and higher current for subsequent H Beam welding. This is an important tip for operating on 3 in 1 H Shaped Metal Frames Welding Machine;
c) While for fabricating smaller H Beam of Web 5mm flange 6mm thickness, the welding current should be set to 360A:
Set up welding current and voltage with control console of SAW welding power supply again: (Fig.15)

Besides welding current and voltage, the most important set up is working speed of integral assembly welding straightening, which varies within the scope of 100- 1000 mm/min. It is determined by the bottleneck welding step:
1) Case one: When fabricating on the H Beam with flange thickness 10mm web thickness 8mm, the welding speed was set up by customer to 570 mm/min.:

When fabricating on a smaller H Beam of Web 5mm flange 6mm thickness, initially customer set up working speed as 1,100 mm/min.:

b) Wuxi JACK engineers countered that this speed is too high. They recommended that, the first T welding should be about 750 mm/min., and second H welding can do with 680 mm/min.:
c) Customer engineer make adjustment on working speed accordingly: (Fig.18)

There are many topics covered in the 4 days team discussion from March 23 2026 to March 26. Here we just pick up some of them. After so many discussions as above, which is inevitable for every customer at initiation stage of their work on the 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine, let us discuss one important topic: Do customer and producer have same standard on appraising fabricated H Beam? It is not customer having strict standard, while producer with loose standard, but instead, we should analyze and make judgement objectively. Here, let us take the discussion on March 26 2026 as example:
1) Customer produced H Beam with dimensions of: Web 5mm (Thickness) * 294mm (Height) * 7780mm (Length), flange 8mm (Thickness) x 185 (Width) *7780 (Length)
2) After measurement, the overall longitudinal curve along the 8m length H Beam is 20mm, which customer claimed unacceptable:
3) Customer measures H Beam longitudinal curve after welding: (Fig.19)

a) Phenomenon: Small thickness plates exhibit significant welding deformation after welding. Even with single purpose Gantry Welding Machine, longitudinal bending deformation will occur on welded H Beam. Welding deformation can only be controlled and reduced through welding processes and production procedures. This is inherent phenomenon in the process of H Beam production, and what we (Customer and producer together) is working together to reduce welding heat input as much as possible, and grope for ideal operating parameters with Three in One H-beam Welding Machine;
b) Conclusion and Suggestion: This H-beam workpiece has a relatively small cross section and long length, approaching 8 meters. The welding deformation of 20mm should be considered quite good. There is also welding deformation related to longitudinal bending, which can be corrected using heat treatment, as shown in the diagram below:

d) Heat this triangle, just a little, and then test it after it cools down;
1) Problem for Solve: For H-beams of the same length, those with smaller cross sections has more obvious deformation after welding than those with larger cross sections, and their inherent rigidity is also lower;
2) Function: Wuxi JACK produced HJ series BOX H Beam Horizontal Press Straightening Machine is the dedicated equipment for correcting such longitudinal curve along long steel structure workpieces, typically BOX Beam, H Beam, Section steel... It is featured product of Wuxi JACK. The model differs based on the max. output straightening force, from the minimum 20 ton (HJ20), to 300 ton (HJ300):
3) Commissioning on Wuxi JACK HJ20 model H Beam Horizontal Press Straightening Machine for a Belarus customer in year 2024: (Fig.21)

1. The above record is just epitome of interaction between customer and producer (Wuxi JACK) at initiating stage of machine being put into use at customer workshop. In this respect, business does not complete at the time machine delivered to customer, but go into next stage of real test;
Just like any other machinery, there are many factors influence:
1) Quality and performance of the 3 in 1 H-beam Welding Machine itself: This matters the most. And in this respect, we have many introductions on technical strong points of our machines;
2) Welding technology: This is also of vital importance, which varies from customer to customer, based on different H Beams to be produced, and standard implemented. It needs long time deep down study and accumulation;
3) Operator skill: Every set of 3 in 1 H Shaped Metal Frames Welding Machine needs an veteran operator to manage, who has sufficient skill on operating automatic machine/ welding technology...
4) Teamwork: And at beginning stage of machine operation, just like this case happened in March 2026 in Cambodia, an assiduous engineer who spends long time to work on site, and communicate with producer (Wuxi JACK) to feedback on progress of machine use, also plays key role in satisfying use of our Three in One H-beam Welding Machine;
