1. 3 Major Types: LHT is machine model bridging the gap between LHC column trolley and LHA series H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine:

Welding Mode: The three kinds of I H-beam Welding Machine all adopt with SAW submerged arc welding, with H Beam in position of 45° for deep penetration fillet welding, or BOX Beam in position of 0° flat for finished SAW welding. PHJ and ZHJ Models 3 in 1 I H-beam Welding Machine:

This is BOX product of Wuxi JACK. It is used for assembly, welding and straightening small to medium size H Beam (Flange thickness ≦40mm), with single set of machine. 1. 4 Sets of LHT model I H-beam Welding Machine:

In October and November 2025, Wuxi JACK delivered 4 sets of LHT model machine in total to 2 East European customers respectively. The 2 times delivery on LHT machines:
1) Welding Mode: Single arc SAW, max. 1000A;
2) SAW Welding Machines: Were equipped with American Lincoln brand DC1000 and Chinese HUAYUAN ZD7-1000 SAW welding power supply, designated by customers;
3) The size of H Beam that can be welded is conventional type: Flange thickness up to 40mm, Web height up to 1500mm:

In July and August 2025, Wuxi JACK delivered totally 12 sets of LHC heavy model I H-beam Welding Machine to an East European dealer, for 2 and half automatic H Beam Production Line:
1) Welding Mode: Tandem arc SAW;

A. Operation Mode of H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine:

1. Applicable Workpieces and Welding Technique in I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine:

1) BOX T I H Beams, the large size heavy weight steel structure workpieces, which are usually made of carbon steel:
a) The common weight is in the range of 5 to 10 Ton, max. 20 Ton;
b) Heavy duty: H Beam flange and web in the thickness range 6mm to 40/ 60/ 80/ 100mm;
c) Medium large size H Beam welded from Wuxi JACK LHT model open structure I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine: (Fig.1)
 

2. Welding Technique Adopted in I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine:

1) H Beam: To firmly weld the steel structure workpiece with sufficient welding seam integrity and strength, 45° fillet position large current SAW submerged arc welding technique is carried out, of single arc/ twin arc/ tandem arc options:
At Bangladesh customer facility, operator checks on the 45° fillet SAW submerged arc welding in Wuxi JACK H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machines: (Fig.2)
2) In the case of welding on BOX Beam, the workpiece is laid in 0° flat position, at middle of bottom position of machine gantry frame. For this reason, the max. thickness of BOX Beam for welding is usually 20mm:

B. Advantages and Operation Way of I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine:

1. Multiple Passes Welding: Different from 3 in 1 I H-beam Welding Machine, which usually entails one time welding only on workpiece, here in sole purpose machine on BOX and H Beam welding, two or more passes welding can be implemented along the entire length of workpiece, by driving machine gantry frame back and forth several times along workpiece;
2. Accordingly, deep penetration and broad cover face welding seam can be acquired, meeting customer requirement on building heavy duty steel structure constructions. This is especially useful for building H Beam with flange and web thickness thicker than 40mm:

4. Operation Manner of Gantry Moving I H-beam Welding Machine:

1) H Beam Position: As shown in the above photo, during operation, the 2 pieces of H Beams are laid in stationary onto on its support rack;
2) Welding Operation: Mechanical gantry frame and its installed 2 pieces of welding torches move along H Beams, and perform SAW welding at the same time;
3) Welding Velocity Management: The gantry moving speed is welding speed, which is adjusted with A.C. inverter, and shown in real time on digital meter of operating panel;

C. Model Variation on I H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine:

1. Mechanical Body of I H-beam Welding Machine:

Is originated and differed from application conditions of:
1) Application Site: Will the machine be applied in automatic or semi-automatic H Beam Production Line?
2) Max. size of workpiece: H Beam web height, flange and web thickness;
3) Labor Task: Planned arrangement of operator during welding operation;
4) Type of Workpieces: Will BOX Beam be welded also or not in this machine?
5) Quantity of welding torches and supplementary units;
 

2. Three Types of Mechanical Structure I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine:

1) LHC model column trolley structure, with one group of welding unit in one set of machine, being applied in automatic line for H Beam production:

2. Ingenious Design and Delicate Workmanship of Welding Seam Tracker of Wuxi JACK I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine:

1) As you can check from the above photos, Wuxi JACK has ingenious design, real talent and material on welding seam tracing unit equipped in our machines;
2) Capability: The welding seam tracker has spatial three dimensional tracing ability in precise manner, during welding operation: Along horizontal direction, it is managed with gas cylinder, floating type; Along vertical direction, it is managed with gravity;
3) Tracking Elements: There are leaning rollers for both horizontal and vertical direction track, which touch with surface of horizontal welding seam and vertical mounting carriage tightly in dynamic way, in the process of SAW welding;
4) Working Principle: During SAW welding in the I H-beam Welding Machine, the up and down movement of welding seam tracer works in floating style, while horizontal movement is driven with pneumatic valves. This gives flexible and most fitting control on welding seam tracer in all directions;

 

3. Operation Manner of Welding Seam Tracker in Wuxi JACK I H-beam Welding Machine:

1) Fully Automatic: Welding seam tracing unit operates in the machine automatically;
2) Compact Design: Shown in the above photos, SAW welding flux feeding tubes are integrated into the welding seam tracing unit, making compact design and dimension of the entire welding group, in Wuxi JACK I H-beam Welding Machines, with the supplementary unit of welding seam tracer.

Application of Open Structure Gantry Frame I H-beam Welding Machine

1. Mechanical Structure and Workpieces of T Frame I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine:

a) Assembly on 4 sets of LHC model machines at Wuxi JACK Workshop: (Fig.1)
b) Performance test on LHT model machine: (Fig.2)
1) Common Point: Open Frame: Shown from the above photos, these two models of I H-beam Welding Machine all have open mechanical structure main frame;
2) Single Model Suitable for All Sizes H Beam: For this reason, any one size of T I H Beam, from minimum 200mm web height, to the maximum 2000mm web height, can be SAW welded on the same one model of LHC or LHT models H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine;
3) Available for BOX Beam Welding Also: Remove platform at bottom of the T frame, as shown in below photo, the LHT model can also be used for welding BOX Beam. For this purpose, BOX Beam should be placed at bottom middle inside the moving T frame;

2. Application of Open Structure I H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine:

1) LHC column trolley machine is mainly used in automatic heavy duty H Beam Production Line. One set of LHC completes on one SAW welding seam on H Beam, 4 sets installed in total;
2) LHT T frame machine is applied in semi-automatic H Beam Production Line, implementing on SAW welding on two pieces of H Beam simultaneously, within one time of its operation; So, this machine is also applied in BOX Beam Production Line.

1. LHC Column Trolley I H-beam Welding Machine

1. Application of LHC Model I H-beam Welding Machine

1) Operation Way and Site: LHC is usually 4 sets in a row, being installed at SAW welding zone of fully automatic H Beam Production Line. In this way, one piece of H Beam goes through the 4 sets of LHC, and with help from hydraulic drive 90° Overturning Machine, finished SAW welding on all of its 4 pieces of seam welding on H Beam. The entire process is implemented in automatic, operator just need to manage on operating panel of LHC, as shown in the left photo;
2) One Model Fitting for All: Same as LHT, there is only one model LHC: In theory, all web heights of T I H Beams can be welded in this open mechanical structure, from 200mm to 2000mm.

 

2. 4 Special Points of LHC Column Trolley Open Structure I H-beam Welding Machine:

Compared with LHA closed frame and LHT T frame machine:
1) No workpiece racks necessary for LHC model. Instead, T I H Beams are put onto group of hydraulic drive 60° Overturning Rack, as you check from the left hand photos;
2) Only 1 piece of SAW welding torch installed in one set of LHC machine. So, only piece of H Beam can be welded in LHC at any moment. This model is designed for automatic line use;
3) 4 Sets as a Group: The on site application of LHC I H-beam Welding Machine in automatic H Beam Production Line involves 4 sets of LHC working as a group. This is for completing H Beam 4 welding seams fabrication, with its one time flow through the line, without turning around;
4) Material handling in LHC model machine is safe and labor saving: Flipping and conveying workpiece is realized with 60° Overturning Rack and Steel Conveyor;
5) Balance is Important: The “downside” of LHC I H-beam Welding Machine is also obvious: It has single side inversed L shape, which is not as stable as LHT and LHA double sides acting structure I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine. So, during machine assembly at producer workshop, and official operation at customer site, be sure to always take care on balance of column trolley. This can be acquired by means of putting counterweight onto moving trolley during assembly at Wuxi JACK workshop, as shown in the left photo, and putting SAW welding machine onto moving trolley when the LHC machines are at customer workshop use.

2. LHT T Frame I H-beam Gantry Welding Machine:

1. Technical Features of LHT Open T Structure I H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine:

Characteristic: LHT is the intermediate model between LHC column boom and LHA gantry moving models, common points with LHC and LHA both:
1) Mechanical main body of LHT has T shape structure. The 2 pieces of H Beams are laid at external sides of T frame during SAW welding. So, it has open structure;
2) Welding torch quantity: In one set of LHT, there are 2 pieces of welding torch. So, 2 pieces of T I H Beams can be welded simultaneously in the LHT machine;
3) Application Site: Same as LHA series, LHT model H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine works in semi-automatic H Beam Production Line, more flexible for on site layout;
4) Manual work on workpiece handling in LHT, including overturning and transportation of BOX H Beams are also toilful, which needs special attention for making sure operator safety and workpiece protection;
5) One Model for All Sizes Workpieces: LHT has T shape open style mechanical main body, no restriction on H Beam web height.

 

2. Uniqueness of LHT I H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine:

1) One machine with triple use: Benefitting from its mechanical T frame structure, applicable workpieces is not confined to T I H Beam, BOX Cross Beams are also available for being fabricated in the LHT;
2) Besides, other long length and relatively small cross section size steel workpieces, such as long pipe/ pole/ lamp post, can also be welded with this LHT models open structure H-beam Gantry SAW Welding Machine;
3) Welding mode is not confined to SAW welding also. Other common seen welding technique, for example, CO2 GMAW/ Strap cladding (Built up welding), can also be applied in the machine.
