The Lefthand Scrolling Photos: Functions units of Wuxi JACK steel plate Edge Milling Machine
When customer plans to purchase this steel plate Welding Groove Processing Equipment, critical points of attention:
This determines the basic configuration and model of the machine:
1) Stroke is determined on the max. length of steel plate for beveling, or the total length of several pieces clamped together;
2) For example, the XBJ-9 model means that, the max. edge milling stroke is 9000mm. It can be either single piece of sheet plate, or several small pieces in a row;
3) The default configuration is 0°- 45° for straight and top beveling, -45°- 0° for bottom beveling. When customer needs more extensive bevel scope, such as ~45°- +45°, or 0°- 80° , milling head should be tailor made;
1) Single Milling Head: For finished welding grooves, if customer only need straight and top bevels, then XBJ model single head is proper;
2) Double Heads: If customer request on not only straight and top bevels, but also bottom bevels, which is usually a must for thick steel plates welding (Thickness above 40mm), then SXBJ models double heads is better for customer selection;
3) Long Stroke of Plate Beveling: Meanwhile, suppose customer requires edge milling stroke to be longer than 9,000mm, for example, 15,000mm, then even if customer only need straight and top bevels, we still recommend double heads steel Plate Edge Miller Machine, so as to have higher productivity;
This refers to “advanced” function, on the basis of conventional functions. For example:
1) Steel plate will be loaded manually, or automatically? This is especially important for large model machine, when steel plates have large size and heavy weight;
2) The edge milling angle control, be it conventional manual operation, or more advanced motor drive and automatic display.
1) Characteristic: The lefthand upper photo show installation orientation of milling head in single head steel Plate Edge Miller, for milling out straight groove and upper bevel on metal plates, as shown in the lefthand lower photo;
2) Applicable for: Single head configuration is suitable for beveling on small to medium edge milling stroke, had better up to 9,000mm. Although in theory, large stroke machines can also be installed with only one milling head, such as 18m beveling stroke, the beveling efficiency is greatly affected, which is not practical;

| Edge Milling Angle | 0°- 45°/ 60°/ 83° |
| The Max. Width of Steel Plate | 2,000mm under conventional design |
| Thickness Range of Steel Plate | 6- 50mm/ 80mm/ 100mm |
| Edge Milling Speed | 100- 1,000mm/min. or 150- 1,300mm/min., variable frequency drive and digital display |
| Milling Head Carriage Idle High Speed | 4,000mm/min. |
| Hydraulic Motor Power | 5.5kW |
| Spindle Stroke | 100mm |
1) Characteristics: The installation orientations of the two milling heads are different, as shown in the righthand 2 photos: One head is same as that of the single head machine; The other head for lower beveling faces upward on its motorized carriage;
2) The typical finished bevel from double heads machine is shown in righthand 3rd photo. There are straight / upper / lower bevels on edge of the beveled steel plate;
3) Operation Mode: During work, the 2 pieces of milling head work together, one following the other, mill out the straight/ upper/ lower bevels with one time edge milling stroke operation;
4) Applicable for: Double heads Steel Plate Beveling Machine covers full range of edge milling stroke, 3000mm to 18,000mm. Especially for beveling on medium and long steel plates, when length exceeds 9000mm, double heads machine plays key role in guaranteeing productivity;
| Typical Models | SXBJ3 to SXBJ18 |
| The Max. Edge Milling Stroke (Plate Length) | 3,000mm (SXBJ3)- 18,000mm (SXBJ18) |
| Quantity and Specifications of Milling Head | 2 pieces, HD750 7.5kW or MU-6S/9S 9.3kW/ 11kW |
| Type of Grooves | Straight, up and lower bevels |
| Edge Milling Angle | (0°- 45°/ 60°/ 83°) for up bevel, 0° for straight groove, (-45°- 0°) for lower bevel; (-45°- +45°)/ (-50°- +25°)/ (-90°- +90°) for up and lower bevels |
| The Max. Width of Steel Plate | 2,000mm to 4,000mm under conventional design |

| Edge Milling Speed | Same as single head |
| Milling Head Carriage Idle High Speed | 4,000mm/min. |
| Spindle Stroke | 100mm/ 150mm |
1) Characteristics: Workpieces are super large steel plates: 23m length, 6m width and 200mm thickness, 150 tons weight, which can not be processed with conventional Edge Milling Machine;
2) Configuration: As shown in the lefthand photos, in 1 set of four or five heads large Steel Plate Beveling Machine, there are:
a) Totally 4 pieces of MU-9S model 11kW milling head being installed at both sides of worktable. 2 pieces at each side;
b) Optional: The 5th piece of 7.5kW milling head is installed at lateral side of worktable, for edge milling on lateral side of steel plates;
3) Working Mode: 3 edges of large steel plate are beveled simultaneously, along its two lengthways edges, and one short edge. In this way, edge milling efficiency can be greatly maintained for super large plates;
4) Structure: Different from conventional design, the upper gantry of ultra large steel plate Edge Milling Machine can be moved forward under motor drive, to leave out sufficient space for loading large steel plate;
