1. Upright Column Structure of Small and Large Beam End Milling Machine:

1) Importance: The max. vertical milling stroke is the most crtical technical index for End Milling Machine: The higher the valid vertical stroke of end face milling, the more difficult in designing and production on the machine. So, DX6080 model is the apex in its machine family;
2) The reason is, with increasement of upright column height, the corresponding risk grows on its insufficient rigidity, which may lead to flabby structure, and consequently unstable milling head and its operation;

a) In DX0820 to DX10xx small models: (Fig.1)
Upright column is a segment of straight square column:

The milling head can be tilted integrally within the range of 0°~ 45° along T slot of its installation board, in the vertical mounting plane of workpiece end face. 6) Quality of finished working parts can meet requirement on the 1st stage rough machining: Rough layer of both sides end surfaces of workpieces are removed, making prepare on subsequent steps of either finished milling, or assembly, or direct end face joint.

1) As shown in the above photos, guarding unit of horizontal base bed is of cascading style, which is made from stainless steel. Together with horizontal movement of upright column along machine base bed, the guarding unit is sleeved in and out accordingly, protecting the heavy duty precise linear guiderail from being infiltrated with foreign particles and milling scraps. The guarding unit has the advantages of good seal, good dissipation and long life;

1) In one set of End Milling Machine, depending on the longest length of workpiece, one group of workpiece clamp brackets consists of two to three sets of brackets;
2) The first bracket, which is the closet to end face of workpiece, is the most important one. It clamps the workpiece from both bottom and lateral side --- Depending on whether BOX Beam or pipe structural members, there are two or one overhead downward cylinders to clamp the workpiece;
3) The next one or two brackets usually clamp the workpiece from lateral side only, unless special requirement on downward clamp;
4) During clamping, one side of workpiece should be taken as reference plane, and be perpendicular with end face of workpiece. If not, end face milling quality may be negatively influenced;
3. Workpiece Clamp Table in Pipe and Steel Structure BOX H Face Large Beam End Milling Machine:
The above right 2 photos:
1) When workpiece equals to or exceeds 2,000mm height, the above introduced single side clamping is not sufficient to secure on workpiece reliably;
2) By this time, double sides clamping manner should be adopted, which forms the entire clamping system like a half enclosed frame structure;
3) The large and heavy workpiece is clamped from both sides, thus giving reliable and firm clamp on large and heavy workpieces.
