CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine

1. Function of CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine:

1) Working Nature: This machine is the integration of CNC Plasma Flame Plate Cutting Machine and CNC Drilling Machine: Under the control of CNC system, the machine can fulfil tasks of:
a) Oxygen fuel flame profile shape cutting;
b) Plasma profile shape cutting;
c) Mechanical hard drilling holes with designated position and diameter;
On carbon steel plate;
2) Major Specifications:
a) The max. thickness for Oxygen fuel flame cutting is 100mm;
b) The max. thickness for plasma cutting depends on model of equipped plasma power supply, usually in the range of 30~ 40mm;
c) The max. thickness for hole drilling is 80mm;
d) The overall size of sheet metal is in the scope of 1,000mm to 3,000mm of width and length;
3) Hole Drilling: The drilled holes cut from the CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine are unthreaded types, either in the style of single, or plural, or group. The diameter, position, quantity of drilled holes can be controlled precisely in the machine;
4) Profile Cutting: Flame and plasma shape cutting is performed same as conventional CNC Plasma Flame Plate Cutting Machine; Drilling holes is implemented by means of mechanical drilling head.

2. Configuration Arrangement of CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine:

1) Sheet Metal Fixation: The above 1st photo: During working of the CNC Thermal Cutting Machine complex, workpiece steel plate is laid onto cutting platform, and pressed firmly by means of circle of hydraulic drive jacks, which surround the cutting platform;
2) Working Unit Arrangement: The above 1st photo: CNC flame cutting torch and hard drilling head share the same piece of motor drive moving carriage, which is installed on the front beam of the CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine;
3) Water Cooling for Hole Drilling: The above 2nd photo: There is water cooling system for drilling unit, which is equipped in the machine. This includes:
a) Water coolant spraying unit;
b) Cutting fluid coolant circulating hoses and tank;
c) Hydraulic drive valve and pump;
The cooling system works in automatic way;
4) User Friendly Operation: The above 3rd and 4th Photos:
During operation of the CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine, operator sits on operation station of the machine, which consists of:
a) CNC controller;
b) Operating panel of the machine;
c) Oxygen fuel flame cutting gas regulating panel;
d) Plasma cutting system: Plasma cutting power supply, cutting torch IHS;
e) Operator chair;
The routing of cables and thermal cutting gas along lengthways direction is by way of overhead cable tray, which is deployed alongside cutting platform of the CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine, and go all the way along workshop wall.

3. Production of Wuxi JACK CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine:

1) Working Axis in the Machine:
In this complex of CNC Plasma Flame Plate Cutting Machine , thermal cutting torch and drilling head have three degrees of freedom:
a) The above 1st and 2nd Photos: X axis along horizontal beam at front face of the machine, which is driven with servo motor of the moving carriage. This movement is guided with precise linear guiderail, and transmitted with rack. This corresponds with width side of steel plate;
b) Y axis along lengthways direction of machine cutting platform. This movement is also driven with servo motor of the motorized moving gantry. This corresponds with length side of steel plate;
c) Z axis along vertical direction. This movement is driven with A.C. motor, and guided with precise linear guiderail. This corresponds with height level control of cutting torch and drilling tip;
d) Switch between Hole Drilling and Profile Cutting: During operation of the CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine, switch between plasma flame cutting and hard hole drilling is manipulated by means of switch button;

2) Mechanical Gantry Frame of the CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine:

a) The above 3rd photo: Motor drive moving gantry has cross section of double box structure, this gives movement of the gantry more stability, durability, and strength, which can withstand impact of long term drilling in the machine;
b) The front mechanical box structure is similar to gantry beam of conventional CNC Plasma Flame Plate Cutting Machine, with motorized moving carriage / thermal flame plasma cutting torch/ mechanical drilling head being installed at its front side;
c) The rear box structure has its top surface placement of cutting fluid coolant tank;
d) The above 4th photo: Operator chair and cable hanging rack of the CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine are assembled onto lateral side of the motor drive moving gantry.

4. Operation of Wuxi JACK CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine:

1) Shape Cutting Program: Before official working of the machine, simple profile shape cutting and hole drilling can be directly compiled on CNC controller on site: G code or embedded workpiece library; Complicated workpiece program can be compiled ahead of time, and copied into CNC controller of the machine. This can greatly save cycle time of flame plasma cutting and hole drilling;
2) Plate Clamp: Large size thick thickness carbon steel plate should be secured firmly by means of hydraulic drive jacks; The drilling head should be checked on its proper status;
3) Sole Function Instantaneously: At any moment during operation of the CNC Plate Drilling and Cutting Machine, only one of the function cells is effective: Either Oxygen fuel flame cutting, or plasma shape cutting, or hard drilling hole. The position of drilled holes is taken as reference on contour of cut steel plate. So usually the sequence of operation in the machine is like this: First perform flame or plasma cutting, then mechanical hole drilling.

Cutting Center Composed of CNC Plasma Flame Plate Cutting Machine

1. Layout and Arrangement of Flame Plasma CNC Thermal Cutting Machine Cutting Center:

1) The above 1st and 2nd sketch: This thermal cutting center is composed of 3 sets of CNC Plasma Flame Plate Cutting Machine:
a) 1 set of CNC-CG6000 model for plasma flame cutting with triple cutting;
b) 2 sets of CNC-CG6000 model for Oxygen fuel flame cutting;
2) Cutting Length: The cutting rails for movement of the 3 sets of CNC Cutting Machine have total length of 26m, applicable for cutting the max. length of 18m steel plate;
3) Cutting Width: The cutting rail span is 6,000mm, applicable for cutting the max. width of 5,200mm steel plate;
4) Flame Triple Cutting: Cutting torch on the plasma flame CNC Thermal Cutting Machine is triple cutting. See below photo:

2. Function of the CNC Plasma Flame Plate Cutting Machine Cutting Center:

1) Cutting Grooves: This Cutting Center can accomplish on beveling along the 4 edges of carbon steel plate. Of which the edge beveling along lengthways direction of steel plate is performed with the middle set of CNC-CG6000 model machine. The both sides short side beveling is accomplished by means of the 2 sets of lateral side CNC Flame Cutting Machine;
2) Plasma Profile Cutting: The middle set of plasma flame CNC Thermal Cutting Machine also takes the task of profile shape cutting. With 1 set of American Hypertherm brand POWERMAX 1650 plasma power supply equipped, the machine can fulfil both flame and plasma profile shape cutting;
3) Cutting Torch Height Controller: CNC control flame cutting torch is equipped with capacitance type height controller; Triple cutting torch is equipped with mechanical type principle cutting torch height controller;
4) In this multiple function Cutting Center, the control of the 3 sets of CNC Plasma Flame Plate Cutting Machine and CNC Flame Cutting Machine are carried out individually. Which means, the 3 sets of machines can either work at the same time as a group, or operate individually, thus greatly raising productivity and flexibility on plate cutting.
