1) LHA series gantry frame machine is only proper solution on welding large H Beam. Here “large” refers to thick plate of H Beam, with 40mm to 80mm thickness. This is benefitting from:
a) 45° fillet position of H Beam;
b) Large welding current in SAW;
c) 3 options of: Single Arc (Single wire), Twin Arc (Double wires single arc), Tandem Arc (Double wires double arc);
2) Performance: The SAW welding on large H Beam can get superior welding seam of: Long length/ Full penetration, and broad cover face:
3) Large H Beam in 45° position on supporting racks and welding torch, in Wuxi JACK LHA5C model machine: (Fig.4)
Manipulation on all function units is realized under the precondition of, these components are deployed at different specific sections inside the machine:
1. SAW power supplies are put on the workshop floor alongside the long parallel rails, in stationary manner:
2 sets of Chinese HUAYUAN MZ-1250 SAW power supply equipped with Wuxi JACK LHA model machine: (Fig.5)
1) Together with its hoppers, SAW welding flux recovery and recycling units are put on the top side of gantry horizontal beam, and move along together with gantry moving during welding operation;
2) SAW welding wire feeders and welding arc tracing units are assembled with SAW welding torch, composing into a complete set of SAW welding unit, which is fit on the transverse moving carriage of welding torch. And each set of the moving carriage is installed on front face of gantry frame beam:

There are several models of SAW power supply being applied in H Beam welding:
1. Single Arc: ZD7-1000 (HUAYUAN) or DC-1000 (Lincoln):
1) This refers to D.C. current of max. 1000A for SAW welding. It can meet the requirement on most majority SAW;
2) For all the LHA models machine produced by our company, under the Single Arc submerged arc welding mode, we use this model welding power supply;
1) This refers to A.C. current of max. 1250A. It is seldom used as sole SAW power source;
2) Instead, under Twin Arc SAW mode, it works together with DC-1000 or ZD7-1000 SAW power supply. Which means, one set of DC-1000 and AC-1250 each for Lincoln, or one set of ZD7-1600 and MZE-1250 each for HUAYUAN, to be used in combination;
3. HUAYUAN ZD7-1250 or Lincoln DC-1500:
This refers to D.C. current of max. 1250A for HUANYUAN, and 1500A for Lincoln. Both the models have too large current, which is not applicable for working as SAW power source on H Beam welding;
1) D.C. welding power source features in delivering welding seam of deeper crater and deposition;
2) A.C. welding power source features in delivering welding seam of wider weld fusion and comparative good appearance;
3) For Wuxi JACK LHA model machine on H Beam welding, the SAW power source is one set of Lincoln DC1000 (or HUAYUAN ZD7-1000) for Single Arc, and, as mentioned in the previous segment, one set of Lincoln DC1000 together with one set of Lincoln AC1250 (or one set of HUAYUAN ZD7-1600 together with MZE 1250 each) for Twin Arc.
1. For HUAYUAN brand welding power source, there is no independent model for the control console. It shares the same model with the power source:

For Lincoln brand welding power source, the mating console used in LHA series of machine is:
1) NA-3 for DC1000 model SAW power supply;
2) NA-4 for AC1250 model SAW power supply;
3) NA-5 is the version of state-of-art digital control (Welding parameters pre-set and in real time display);
4) Lincoln SAW welding wire feeder also has the model of NA-3. Need to take care no confusion between control console and welding wire feeder.
1. Prepare on SAW Welding in I H Beam Gantry Welding Machine:
1) After assembled and spot welded in Z15/Z18/Z20 Assembly and Tack Welding Machine, the H Beam is sent and put onto supporting racks of LHA models machine, in the position of 45° fillet welding, the most ideal orientation of workpiece for getting deep penetration and large cover face welding effect;
2) The supporting racks are put and fixed on the workshop floor beneath the gantry:

1) Welding Torch Position Adjustment: In the process of SAW welding, the two pieces of carriages which are fit with two sets of SAW welding torch can move leftward and rightward along transverse beam of moving gantry, as well as up and down along the two pieces of vertical arms, which are installed on the transverse beam of gantry;
2) In this way, during work, the two sets of welding torches can move along three directions of horizontal / vertical / lateral, making its welding tip aiming at welding seams all along. The forward and backward movement of welding torches in horizontal plane is realized with gantry moving along the rails:

3. Welding Seam Tracker: In one set of LHA model I H Beam Gantry Welding Machine, there are two sets of automatic welding seam tracing unit, which are installed at the front end of welding carriages, one tracing unit in one carriage each:

4. For implementing on SAW on H Beam, gantry moves along parallel rails in adjustable working speed;
