1) Usage: The BOX Beam Chain type Manipulator is for smooth flipping structure members of basic square cross section within the scope of 0° ~ 360°, and changing its height level at the same time:
Test on performance of Chain type Turnover Machine at Wuxi JACK workshop, by flipping a piece of long BOX Beam: (Fig.1)
2) BOX Beam Rotation: The flipping operation can be implemented with in both directions, forward (Clockwise) versus reverse (Counterclockwise), and stopped at any angular position;
3) Applicable Site: This equipment is applicable for position and orientation change during welding operation of long and heavy workpieces. Usually, it can be either formed into single operating station, or part of flexible production line.
1) Composition: This equipment is composed of 2 sets of U shape stationary frame, which work in unite, for overturning structure members of square or general square cross section shape;
2) Workpiece: Benefiting from half open structure and soft chains, it is especially suitable for turning over long steel structure BOX H Beam, of 10~ 20m length, cross section of up to 1200mm height and width, thickness over 10mm, weight around 2~ 3 tons:

3) Working Step and Function: This Chain type Manipulator adopts with high strength and high intensity roller chains as its manipulating tool, which can flip workpiece in both CW (Clockwise) and CCW (Counterclockwise) directions, and stop the workpiece at any required angle, to get the optimum ergonomics welding position.
1) When Not in Work: When there is no workpiece in the equipment, its rocking arms will expand outward in certain degree, under the pressure of heavy counterweights, leaving enough space for workpiece being loaded in;
2) Workpiece Loading: To initiate on welding operation, hoist the large steel structure Beam onto roller chains;
3) Process Control: Start on motor reducer, roller chains begin to revolve, leading workpiece into flipping of both directions;
4) At Target Angular Position: When workpiece is overturned to target angle, stop running of the Chain Manipulator Turnover Machine, by shutting off its motor reducers;
5) During Welding Operation: The motor reducers will be locked by itself (Self lock mechanism), making workpiece stop at this target position securely without issues of skidding/ slippage, etc., fully guaranteeing on safety of operator and their job. By this time, workpiece can be welded in automatic or manual way:

6) Double Assurance on Loading Bearing: For steadily turning over excessive heavy weight of workpieces, this Chain Manipulator Flipping Machine can be supplemented with workpiece supporting racks, giving double assurance on high safety and stable operation of the equipment:

7) At the Completion of Welding Operation: At the time workpiece is hoisted off the Chain Manipulator Overturning Machine, rocking arms of the machine will expand automatically to its external side, leaving room for convenience of workpiece unloading:

8) Manipulating in Phase: The 2 sets of Chain type Manipulators have good synchronization during its work;
9) Operating panel on the electric control board has power indicating lamp and power on/ off button, as well as function switches of FOR (Forward Revolve)/ RVR (Reverse Revolve), Emergency STOP, etc.
Composition: This Chain Manipulator Turnover Machine has main units of:
1) Mechanical main frame of double U shape rack;
2) The pair of overhead rocking arms and its revolve shafts;
3) High intensity durable roller chains;
4) Drive unit: Motor reducer and hydraulic oil cylinders;
5) Electric control system and operating pendant:

As shown in the above photo:
1) The mechanical main body is inversed “U” shape, which firmly holds on the entire weight of machine, and withstand impact force generated from workpiece flipping. The mechanical main frame is welded and assembled into shape with welding structure members, and strengthened with numbers of stiffeners at its bottom;
2) Chain type Manipulator: There are 2 pieces (One pair) of rocking arms being installed at the top sections both sides of machine body, which swings along its revolve shafts. These rocking arms play the role of manipulator arm, which swings workpiece by means of roller chains. This is the equipment name “Chain Manipulator Overturning Machine” get from;
3) Roller Chains: This is critical component of the equipment. It has very high strength and intensity, promising safe operation. These roller chains form a closed circular loop inside the inversed “U” shape machine frame, and encircled around several revolving shafts (Which can be identified from outside, especially in not painted condition) along its passage. With running of rollers chains, workpiece is flipped freely and flexibly, in this Chain Manipulator Turnover Machine;
4) Workpiece Rotation Drive: The roller chains are driven with motor reducers. The motor reducers are fit at bottom section of the inversed “U” shape mechanical main body;
5) Equipment Configuration: For one group of equipment effectively running at customer site, there are 2 sets of Chain type Turnover Machine running in pair, with distance flexibly adjusted. Please check attached picture and below:
2 sets of Chain type Manipulator are arranged into an integral and detachable equipment for large BOX Beam flipping: (Fig.7)
6) Operation: Same as other chain type and hard rack style steel structure flipping equipment, this machine is operated in remote control, which has consistent and stable operation.
